PSM's GSXR600 vs Beans GSXR750
Met up with PSM last night to do some runs. Was supposed to be a decent meet but the rain killed it before it really started.
We got a few runs in before the rain. The video is rough night time footage because we had no time to set things up properly, but you get the idea.
PSM and SRZ are both great guys (thanks for the hospitality), and there will be some dig runs between us in the future.
PSM - 10.90@126
Beans - 10.93@131 (traction probs)

600 just dosnt have to power for the higher speeds.
45 roll you were close till speeds increased.
and lol at the 6th gear pull
How much different are the bikes set up? Seems like the 600 would be a bit faster in the 1/8 based off the ETs and trap speed.

My bike is close to stock, just has slip on, filter, and PC3 with a generic fuel tune (stock ignition map)...so maybe 5hp over stock if it's lucky.
We're both stock gear, height, wheelbase, etc.
Both riders are very similar weight (i'm about 10lbs heavier) so no real factor there.
I went 7.2 @ 106.7 in the 1/8 with a 2.04 60' on the rear (traction limited).
I think PSM went 7.0 @104 with a 1.85ish 60' on the rear. PSM correct me if any of this is off.

Glad to see you made it home in one piece, lol. That weather sucked the gonads.
Good to finally meet you, you're welcome to come out any time!
At least you guys got a few runs in. I'd say thew races went almost exactly how we expected.

Great to meet you, dude. Sucked about the rain (did you ever get ahead of it on the way home?) but at least we got a few runs in before it stopped us. We're definitely gonna have to get together and line em up from a dig when we get a chance.
The runs went pretty much as expected. Hard to tell from the videos but with 45-50ish starts to 130-135 for me (140+ for Beans) had him out a good 5-6 bike lengths and still pulling. It was just a strong, steady pull on all runs. I might have hung very briefly on a hit or two, but that's about it. We were gonna do some digs but the weather had other plans. Ah well, next time!

great races. We need some day time footage soon. Once i get my exhaust straightened out....we need to all meet up for a day of racing/food/beers etc. Like a 9am to 11pm thing or something.

what year is the 750? i had 4 friends with the 06 and up 750s and the biggest issue on those bikes was the gearing. just changing the front sprocket made a world of difference on that bike.

I think beans 750 is the first sport bike EVER to have traction problems at stock wheelbase. Come on man, admit that you sucked at launching because I aint buying the traction thing on a prepped track. I can BARELY get my ZX14 to spin on the street from a launch, and never could get my Ninja 600, TL1000R, Gixxer 1000, nor even any of my cruisers I owned to spin on the street unless they had shaft drive.
Only bikes that spin are stretched bikes because the stretching throws the geometry all the hell off so they make up for it by running slicks.

I think by traction issues he meant he couldn't keep the front end down not that he was spinning. I could be wrong but that's how I interpreted it, he said he had a 2.04 60ft with the back tire. Makes me miss my 07' 750, that bike was perfect.

Dont have time to write a real reply and im on my phone.
Bike dead hooks on the street no problem, but won't hook worth a **** at new england dragway. If I want I can spin the rear to 90mph on every pass, guaranteed.
I'm not above admitting I had trouble launching the bike if that was the case, but the fact is the track wouldn't hold any launch above 7k. I had to air down to 15psi and do huge burnouts just to get it to hold first gear at wide open throttle after the launch. On about 5 passes it broke loose mid gear after a gentle launch, on Pilot Powers, in the groove.
I couldn't hook worth a **** all night. I had the front wheel slightly off the ground on the best pass because I was sitting slightly back to try to get traction, and luckily it worked well enough to see the 10s.

You really know how to drive the **** out of that bike, very nice, I dont see very many stock 600's hitting the 10's around here at our track, not that the bikes arent capable. I think that the average or below average rider is just not going to pull it off.
