I'd get rid of my bimmers before I get rid of my TA. I've always wanted a TA and mine cost 13k about 4 years ago. I'm happier to own that than either of my bimmers that cost substantially more. Once you have something where you put so much time and effort into building it up with your own hands to be a bad street car like you wanted to when you were a kid you'll understand. Besides, I can actually own out right the cars that some consider dream cars and that doesn't appeal to me at all. the mantra of "built not bought" comes to mind.

So true.

I've raced a few new ones, not very close really. I had stock block, stock heads, just a cam and a TVS1900 sitting on top in a 4k+ lb sedan. I raced one the driver was claiming had 700hp and I beat him by over half a second. We were both on a 28" tire so no traction excuses. He was mostly running low 11's and eeked out a 10.9 by the end of the day which wasnt bad but not what I expected from a blown stang with bigs and littles.

Not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is not everyone dreams about having a built F body or car that they saw when they were a kid that just goes fast in a straight line. So when someone is says "isn't awesome that I just put 10K into my car and beat some 60K over priced POS?!" No. Its not awesome. And if a car costs 55K there is good reason for it, and ovbiously thats what the owner is into so why does it matter how much they spent? It doesn't. Thats all I'm saying.

Who ******* cares what somebodies dream car is?? Or how much it costs? Everybody is different and likes different stuff. I'd take my ws6 (10k car ) over a lot of other stuff.

On topic though, who cares what it's taken to kill older GT500s. What's it take to kill a new one? Besides a rocket strapped to the *** end..

They said it, not me. And you are 100 percent correct, everyone likes different stuff, so when some dumb **** in a turd beats a Mercedes it doesn't make the Mercendes a POS, thats all

And by the looks of it, its gonna take a mid 120's car to beat a new one assuming no mods

Sounds like only a few select cars on this forum would be able to manage beating one...........

Stock Mach 1s and bolt-on ls6s.

That I do agree with. It's often said that X exotic or luxury car is a piece of **** because it was beat by a H/C/I fbody. To say it's a piece of **** is retarded or that someone paid too much. Different strokes for different folks.

The flip side of that coin is if you have someone in a $55k car that makes 6 times that amount annually hearing a guy say "you spent too much" while he's a bagger at walmart making 15k a year and driving a $10k car while living at his parents house. Who really paid to much for their car then?

<----this guy can't hang with bolt on Mach1's. I actually pull over on the side of the road, turn off the car, and chuck my keys into the ditch when I see one rolling by all the while stating "I yield!"
