Default Bolt on 02 z28 vs stroked 383 heads and cammed lt1 vs evo X vs 2013 5.0 videos

my buddy just got an lt1 fresh build and all saw dyno charts saying it out down 420 rwhp and 395 tq but when we ran the tune wasnt good and its missing a little bit. then a few days later we were cruisin through town and saw a new 5.0 and ran him in the video u can hear him hit rev limiter and took awhile to shift to third but still came around. I was behind and followed and started like 3 cars back and ended up about a car ahead of 5.0 before he let out u can kind of see it in the video.

then a few days before all of this me and a bud ran into an evo X on the highway it was modded but didnt know what was done exactly just head BOV and exhaust, u can see his front mount kind of in video dont know it that was stock or not. we didnt honk he just took off and i played catch up

thanks! thats the truth lol he was pretty pissed he has lil things that will help him out a lot. he is my room mate, we are trying to find a good tune cuz we know that car has a lot more in it. we have a buddy that has an lt1 and he tunes his own car and kind of tuned the green lt1 sunday and it helped a lot but still cant get it where it needs to be, and my budddy just bought an 03 cobra that has ported blower pulley, full exhaust ported tb and plenum and a tune dont know the numbers on it he just bought it wednesday and him and the lt1 raced last night and ill post the vid later.

That lt runs like ****. Tunes is way off or that is one of the most horribl combo's known to man. Has he ever ran it at the track? I have a friend with basically a cam only lt1 that gives bolt-on ls cars a fit......and it don't sound no where near as nasty as that 383.

is it me or am i hearing massive amounts of detonation come from the lt1 in the ls1s in car cam video?

400 bucks in mods on lt1
Add 300 for n20 stuff and Vs bolt on ls1
700 invested and it goes 12.2 @ 116 on all seasons

In the idle clip it's an exhaust leak which he got fixed also shed bout 70 pounds worth of **** in that car and got that lil tune we are racing Saturday juat to c how bad he beats me now. I can't wait till that thing runs to its full potential cuz I want it to beat our friends cobra more vids soon to come also no runs on track only had it for week and a half plus stock 10 bolt. We also have the receipts to his build it's a scat 383 forged rotating assembly with forged pistons and aluminum Afr 65cc heads with a comp cam I think like 231/236 571/574.

It sounds nasty! It would be nice to carb it with a dizzy! Im not a big fan of opti spark but all in all good runs.

that lt1 sounds like a low 230s dur at best. it's prob idling at 700 rpm, no wonder it sounds so rowdy.

good runs for sure, i bet just him losing at 70lbs will make for a much closer race to the lswon car.

Thanks guys. That's what we are hoping for. Hopefully once all the little things are un kinked she will run like a scolded ape lol. Since everything is forged already he is really wanting to boost it most likely a D1

Just went and looked at the reciept. It's a 230/236 .576/.571 with a 113 lsa

right on.

no matter the cam, it should be putting cars on a stock ls1. properly running lt1s are more rare than properly running mustangs, it seems.

my car is bolt on. and yes it should be putting lengths on me he just has little things to be worked out. We are going saturday to a shop and he is putting a deposit down and getting tuned next saturday. new plugs will be here this week, im pumped cuz i want to see this thing run aint nothing like an older camaro running good whooping up on new cars lol.

a friend of mine had an lt1 m6 car with that same cam and he consistently trapped 115-116 with it. no real weight reduction or tricks. very basic setup. he would yank "bolt on" ls1 cars all day. i can't imagine what it would've done with a set of heads on it and lord knows what else. it ran good.

yea exactly i dont consider my car stock cuz if i do call it stock and people are like well u have long tubes blah blah. i mean to each his own, ive just never called a bolt on car stock. ill let yall know what he ends up at after the tuning and everything.

here is after he got this little tune done which did help quite a bit and before he shed about 70 pounds. still missing though. cobra is full bolt ons ported blower and tuned. we dont know whats its puting down though.
