Zl1 was made for the road course, not drag racing. I'm not a huge fan of the zl1, but it is quicker around a track than the gt500 with 100 more horsepower. I respect that quite a bit even though most will only consider straight line acceleration as the only means to measure a cars performance.

Then theres the only real world race that I know of where a tuned GT500 slaughtered and pullied,bolt on, and even upgraded cooling ZL1.
So no the "road course" ZL1 is not quicker around the raod course than the "dragstrip" GT500...

ZL1 = 0

Gt500 = 2
ZL1 = 1
Tie = 1
Bottom line is the ZL1 is under-performing. Al O. hyped it up and it got it's *** handed by Ford.
I suppose you forgot about the other test results????? As usual you leave out all the details to alter the outcome to your satisfaction.

How ironic, I got in this argument Friday with my friend who is a huge Chevy nutswinger. He just can't take it that a 5.0 can beat the ZL1

I think three people from this thread need to meet in the same city for a real world test.
Both go to the local dealership and ....
Ford guy takes a GT500 for a "test drive".
Chevy guy takes a ZL1 for a "test drive".
Third guy needs to be someone that has no dog in the fight. They should own a car that would kill both.Perhaps the owner of a 300whp Civic would be about as unbiased as you can get.
Then the drivers meet in an industrial park for: a 1/4 mile "test drive" and then a road course "test drive". It would be interesting to see the results of putting the cars in the hands of real drivers.

Ummm im pretty certain that is the ONE test that the ZL1 beat the Shelby around the road course.

^I could give a crap less about either car. Hell I'd probably buy the gt500 over the zl1 just because I like it a little better. All I'm saying is the zl1 ain't that bad considering it's down 100hp. Dissect what you want but I could give a **** less really. Alot of slow cars in here seem to talk the most **** eh?
