So, are there mods for a Hyundai Tiburon?

Don't worry. I killed the guy, but got to watch an interesting follow up race.
My (sorta) kill:
I was driving the TA around tonight to iron out the carb tuning. It's running rich for the most part (hovering around 12.7 to 13.5 with .110 jets and 7042 needles - Edelbrock Thunder AVS 800 CFM - I'm suspecting too much fuel pressure), but also has this stumble and spike to 18:1 at part throttle (needle springs?). I thumped the car a couple of times on a local divided 4-laner, winding it up to 70 and shutting down. After a couple of these, I see headlights in my rear view reeling me in quick. I hit traffic, and then catch a red light. Speedy ends up being a dark Hyundai Tiburon with an FOP union tag on the rear plate. He gets lucky in jockying for position at the light, and ends up a car ahead of me, in the other lane.
Great
The guy's willing to beat on the thing. I was will willing to show him the tail lights, but we never got lined up - the luck wasn't in the cars. The best I got was three lights later, when I had the line, and he was behind me. I stomped on the loud pedal when the light went green. He stomped. I had tiny dots in my rear view when I hit 70 and let out. He does the ricer fly by. Waving. Fine by me. I'm not going over 70 racing against what I think is an off-duty cop.
The Hyundai's Kill:
Next light, the Tiburon is next to a grey 350Z. I end up behind the 350Z. The two guys eyeball each other, and then face forward.
Me:
When the light turned, both floor it. I'll be damned if that Hyundai didn't pull the Z off the line. I thought "wow, look at that little thing go" and then decided to also get into it. One carb stumble later , I'm reeling them in. At the top of second gear, I climbed up on the Z, and had to shut down or own it. The Hyundai? Still ahead, perhaps a length and a half - pretty impressive for something I've never given a second thought to.
We ran into traffic pretty quickly after that and never had another chance to line up. Still, it was a fun bit of romping. Sorry, no videos. And next time, I'm bringing my $%#@ radar detector.

I had a Hyundai Tiburon "race" me from a red light a few months ago. It was riced out of course and he won...beat me at 70mph he was a fender ahead. I was 1/2 throttle shifting at ~2200rpm and he was definitely WOT.
Heard just last week that he's bragging around town he beat a modded SS camaro. My friends that heard him bragging just laughed in his face. Dumb Ricers.

Theres a local shop that made centrifugal blower kits for them, with just bolt ons and the blower he claimed 12.8 back when they first came out...Im sure the aftermarket has expanded since then.

Since my close friend has one, and has since 03, Ive been a member there longer then here.... My friends went 12.6 it's got an mp62 blower... They have a couple ones with tvs blowers, making 550 ish whp. Alot of coin though, to get to reasonably fast. The centrifugal cars never did anything impressive. And never went 12.8. Ripp Modds was just that, a rip off. Fastest one is in the 10's I believe, fastest streetable one is in the 11's.

the only fast one i've seen was the one that had two built motors in it running 4wd. the car ran 10's on street tires and the guy made a lot of money with that car street racing it.
