I think youre right. The Camaro ran like it should. Theres not a lot of thread about how good TFS cams are...without TFS heads!!!

A proper cam only car should run with a stock blower eaton car.

A proper H/C car should run with a ported blower eaton car.

By run with I mean it be neck and neck or slight advantage to the LS.

Love that blower whine from the Eaton's!


Have to admit I chuckled when the one Cobra missed a gear, the way the Eaton sounded was funny.

I have yet to find one yet. Before I was ported, I usually put 3+ cars on a health cam only car. 401whp on a mustang dyno

Since ported, The H/C car is usually about the same. The TQ really helps with these cars.

I agree about posting numerous videos that we know nothing about. One of the cars in the video could have a 100 shot and say its H/C only.

+1 I am yet to see one of these crazy heads/cam set ups. Most of the guys that own 03/04 cobras seem to have more money than talent so that'll attribute to some of the losses. A properly set up ported cobra should be over 500whp .

The only LS1 that has given me trouble was a cam only 400whp notch foxbody that weighs around 2700lbs I think. I was dead even with him too (hopefully Corey still has the vids). I really wouldn't be afraid of a heads and cam LS1 unless it had major weight reduction....

you could put a broomstick in there with tfs heads and make power.

for the most part it seems ls1 cars run the best (on the whole) stock it near stock. most cammed cars I see don't run worth a damn. even hc cars around here aren't impressive. the cars go 112 with bolt ons and like 115 with a massive cam. wtf. 60whp and only 3-4 mph? I don't even want to cam my car for that reason. however I do feel I have a better grasp on how **** works than most.

Should'nt need need a cam to run with pullied Cobra's. Just the right bolt-ons. H/c car done properly should thrash a ported eaton car in a quick way.

Still waiting to see these magical LS1's I keep hearing about. I make around what a pullied cobra does in the vid and you see what I did to that Camaro. And I don't see an F-body weighing less than the 400whp cam only fox I ran unless its gutted.

Maybe an all out HCI LS1 build might keep up with a ported/ pullied Cobra, but not your average HCI LS1. This has just been my personal experience though, as I have ran one before

Its hit or miss, theres some strong running cam only cars that drag pullied bolt on cobras and then theres some that have trouble with bolt on f-body's.
What ive learned from owning these cars is it is hit or miss. Ive seen a 243 headed cam LQ get realed in by an intake catback auto f-body with 2.73s. Open your eyes.
