a street roll(especially from a second gear) is not comparable to drag times... so dont confused urself with those..
Its pretty hard to beat a car on one wheel, I think if they were serious you would've got a pretty bad spankin!

I run 10.6's @138 on my 00 R1, 104mph in the 1/8, I've been racing bikes for since I was about 8yrs old, the rider on the R1 was a dip ****, if a stock civic pulls up next to me at a light when I'm on my bike and goes peelin wheels down the road on green and I just pull out slowly cause I didnt feel like hitting over 100mph by the next light, he will tell the world about how he beat an R1, what clowns!

This thread is comical. It's funny to me how some people think they would even stand a mere chance at racing a Gxx'r 1000 or R1 in an F-body.

You're trying to compete with something that's designed to run high 9's from the factory and weighs 1/16th of your car......HEELLLLLLLLLLO

Nice story. Good death... Yes, Busas are fast, there is no doubt. Bikes get faster all the time.
Ok, I'm gonna show my age here...

WAAAAY back in the early days. Ok, the early 90's back when the 900-1000Ninja was a new bike we ran into a guy who thought because he had a new Ninja it had to be faster than every car on the street. Even a certain black 68 Camaro.

So, we talked a race with him. Of course we asked for lengths. So, he spotted us 20 car lengths (hey he's the one who gave them up) for $200. So, we win race #1. We didn't win by alot, so he wanted a re-match. So, after some haggling, we raced from 15 car lengths, because he was really reeling us in...

Race #2 again spotted 15 car lengths and the move for $200 (since bikes are so fast and all). Won by enough to know we'd won, but no enough to make it a humiliation.

Anyhow, without stretching this thing out for a whole page we ended up racing the guy around 5 times. The lengths kept getting smaller until in the last race we ended up running heads up , and we beat him that way just about as badly as we had on the first race.

Total for the night was we went home with $1000 of his cash.

Ya' know, motorcycles have to be faster than cars.... They have to be, ok maybe not always.

Anyway, in all seriousness. Anything can be fast. Look at the SHO Taurus wth a turbo kit. Would you expect a Taurus to be fast?

All I can say is know your enemy, and respect his abilities...

as i said before, drag racing is one thing and street racing is another.. u wont understand until you see a 12 sec car beating a 10 second bike from a roll

i know he tried to wheelie me... but he didnt do it for long and when he put his bike back on the ground he didnt have a chance by the time we get to 4th... i think you forget how much drag slows bikes at top speed...

he might beat me if we race again from 2nd since all of you guys are sure about it... but it defintley wont be an easy kill for him..

Thanks for the "good death" responses guys!

Well since a cammed GSXR 1000 only pulled me by 3 cars I guess I wasnt doing THAT bad.. (although he pulled me QUICK couldnt even shift to forth - it was already over).

J-rod thanks for the input. Nice story. Im glad I didnt race the gsxr for his money though lol.

Maybe one day (after I get a rear end put in) you could race my car at the 1/4 mile track?

I bet you'll probably do better than I ever will even with a set of heads on there

Exactly what I was saying. Bikes are to us what we are to Civics... They're much faster from the factory, but every once in a blue moon you'll find an F-Body that's faster than a bike.
