The biggest thing that hurts your mph is lifting out of the throttle... because now your just wasting time rolling down the track. And i dont mean lifting in the 60 ft. The 60-330ft mark is crucial to mph. Sure your car has more in... but its mostly on the ET side. Not mph. MPH never changes much from your worst run to your best... unless its 14.0 to 11.0.
