I wonder how much difference there is in the bias vs radial @ 20psi? Last time out I was running 21 or 22. But I try to make mine roll easy. Alot of drag racers do all they can to turn power into heat. It seems they forget drag racing is a acceleration race so they all wanna do alot of gear and alot of tire. When dealing with minimal power that is a killer.

120 mph+ is very doable for a well setup cam only setup. Not COMMON but very doable, and it would not be done with a small cam.
****, think of it like this, if many M6 cars have been able to go 115mph+ with bolt ons at 340-360 whp, why wouldn't it go 5mph faster with 50-60 extra whp?
If notch went 116 mph on stock headers, no tune and not even a fast intake. Why wouldn't a max effort cam only setup go 120mph lol. If notch were to get LT's and tune he'd probably pick 1-2mph. Keep in mind notch is still Full interior with a/c, p/s etc... His car is no cookie cutter though.

Mediocre is definitely not a good word choice. I think 99% of the people on this thread would be happy with a 120mph trap cam/bolt-on only LS1
I definitely hear bias ply robs you of MPH up top, but I know the reason a lot of guys use them around here is because they are easier on their factory 10-bolt.

I'm pretty sure the 1LE has already exceeded Boss territory. A ls7 in the Camaro would drive a spike right threw the heart of everything Ford. The gt500 would still out 1/4 it but my god the *** whopping it would take on a road coarse. A 1LE ls7 would be faster than a ZL1 on a road coarse.....maybe even in the 1/4.

from what I heard about the LS7 Camaro (Z28..supposedly) Its going to be pretty much a barebones car with very limited features. Its features will be comparable to the old Vipers or a streetable COPO Camaro with an LS7. Expected to be somewhere around $48k-$52K.

I would personally be happy with a cam-only LS1 Fbody trapping 120mph. Like I said, 99% of people in here would be.
There are too many variables that come into play to call a 120mph trap out of a cam-only Fbody "mediocre at best".
Which IMO i think its a myth, its writen in paper but i personally don't see it happening. GM isn't the type of company to offer more for less when they already have a higher model camaro that is more expensive and offers it, if it IS released it would cost more than the ZL1 thats for sure, or atleast be in the same ball park.
I personally would have such a hard time justifying spending ~$50k on a Camaro
