Default L swapped Mustang GT VS H/C C5

Recorded a run with one of my buddies on the way home from a meet. In Mexico
Stock Lightning motor swapped 5 speed vs my heads & 224cam C5.

Started to get a good bit of black smoke on decel. Only happened when I left the car in 5th while slowing down, went away if I threw it in 6th while hitting the brakes. Valve seals?

LOL You would think an engine swap and a supercharger would be enough, guess not.

the stock 2v 5.4 lightning engines aren't crazy impressive, but it has good potential to be fast, nice kill op

He puts a lot of LS cars to shame with that "stock" motor. We're really close I usually only pull by 2-3 cars on the top end.

That's pretty cool! So what kind of power does a stock Lightning motor make? Was the stang ever dynoed with that motor?

I've seen a few at Mustang Week.

I hate the way they have to cut the hood for clearance for the supercharger, and that one didn't look as impressive as I thought it would. I know that was comparing to the O.P's Vette, but seemed to me like it should of been closer.

A friend of mine had a 96 Mustang with one. It looked like Frankenstein but it ran pretty good. Good runs, now he needs some bolt ons...

So if that motor is 380 hp from the factory, then it's maybe 330 rwhp or so? If so that stang did pretty good with almost 100 hp less than the vette

The torque kept it close. Not near enough hp to keep up with a h/c/i 6.0 in a much lighter Vette on the top end of the revs.

Idk it sounds to me like OP was under his car though. Doesn't sound like he was winding it out.

The mustang has been dyno'd, not sure on the exact number, but it's just a stock lightning motor

The swap looks pretty clean in this car, it's just a hood. To be honest he's usually at my rear fender until higher speeds where I pull maybe a car. His clutch has started to clutch to slip, but he got a pretty good run for this video.

That's why he did the swap over these 5.4's make great torque. In the 450's stock
