Oh well my wife still thinks she wants an SS so I will most likely end up with one to tinker with.

I understand mine isnt stock weight, however... it was 3550 bone stock. Stock for stock, i dont see the z28 being faster (in a straight line) then the ZL1. I do however see it being much more consistant since it wont suffer from heat issues.

Yes AC stand alone is optional. Still no stereo, hids, fogs, as most people with 5th gems want these things. And why yes true it is an ls7. But bare Bo es SS with option for ls7. Would have been nice. Hell then mated to Zn auto for the drag strip. Nice stall, h/c package. Would been nice.

I think an LS3 SS should be plenty for the wife.
You're right it will be more consistent in stock form than the ZL1. What I'm most excited to see is when guys start throwing mods at them. The LS7 responds like crazy to mods. Just like the Z06 these cars won't stay stock for long.

Bad *** car! Rear is fugly. Very impratical. Car will be $60k+. C&D has already said it will be faster and more expensive than the ZL1. To go to the extremes of losing AC and radio just to shed a 100lbs off of a stock SS is pretty hilarious. It will be a track monster tho.
With a price like that i would just mod a 1LE. (h/c/i or forced induction) Have all the good stuff like AC and wipe the floor with the Z28. All while being cheaper...

Generally when people set out to buy a (purpose built) car like this, they're usually not concerned about certain amentities like fog lights and HID's. This car is not going to attract your average buyer of the SS and V6 models. Potential buyers will know all of what this car is about, just like buyers of those purpose built Mustangs Ford has produced over the years. I'm willing to bet many of these cars will actually be used for their intended purpose on a road course. You can always add a radio.

Where does the 3900lb figure come from? 300lbs lighter then a ZL1 puts it right around 3800lbs, identical to a SS. I don't see how it could be same weight as an SS though as a LS7 is the same weight as a LS3??? Thing "should" be 150-200lbs lighter then a SS but it appears it is not. WTF? where did the added weight come from?

I just wished that a car that didnt come with a radio or AC would weigh significantly less. I gotta have my tunes...and ive been down the no AC road..all set lol. But with 300lbs of weight reduction and another 50whp... that could be a pretty damn stout car. I need to get my CJ intake setup before people start modding these up lol

Who said anything about racing a H/C ls7 with a bolt on 5.0 lol. I would hope it would torch me with a H/C setup. I was thinking more bolt ons to bolt ons.
