Default ported/pullied 03 Cobra vs HCI LS1

Okay i've ran this guy last year, and posted the video as well. So since then i've added a ported TB and SSRA, and he did a ported TB as well...that's it! His car has a stage 4 port with 2.76 upper pulley and stock lower. He is also currently running on a custom mail ordered tune, but will be doing a good dyno tune soon. He estimates the car to be in the 480-500 rwhp range at the moment. In this particular race his car is also about 100 lbs lighter than stock, and also has 3.73's with a solid rear axle swap. My mods are in my signature. My nitrous will be done on May 14th, and his will be done by then as well. It will be me on a 100 shot, and him on a 75 or 100...hopefully 75 for him as I will need all the help I can get lol. Clearly his car is a little stronger (to be expected though lol) but I feel I did okay for my mods. He ends pulling a car length by the top of 4th. Anyways here is the vid.

Good death! Get that nitrous, and go for a 100 shot. A FAST 92mm would be great too.

Thanks! Yeah a FAST intake and better tune would help for sure, but to be honest I still don't think I could pull it off...who knows though lol. The current tune in my car is pig rich (11.2-11.5) to about 5k then goes to 12.2-12.5 till it hits the rev limiter at around 6800 rpm. I'm sure a better tune would help some

A 75 for him will do more damage to you i think because it will cool down his blower. Can't remember the last vid but i think it looks the same outcome right? Mayb you hung in there a bit better.

Yeah it's really about the same outcome. I realize that a 75 shot for him could end doing more than usual...i'm just hoping not lol

Good runs. I don't think you did that bad unless you have some big heads and a decent cam.

A 75 on mine picked up +80hp/175ftlbs, with no tune just pulling 2* with the sct. Identical setup as the car in the vid.

I've seen guys pick up more than that, but they were also custom tuned for it.

If you and him run again and are on the same shot, I think it could be even worse for you.

Good death though, no shame in losing to that car.

100 shot VS 100 shot will be worse for you. Blower cars pick up stupid power with nitrous.

Good death.

I think if you worked on your shifting you wouldn't have lost as bad.

Thanks guys! Like I said hopefully he will do no more than a 75 shot, so I might at least have a possible chance lol. I would love to do a 125-150, but don't feel comfortable with it on this current crappy tune. Besides when we throw it on the dyno the tuner is just verifying a/f and total WOT timing...not re-tuning, data logging, etc... So i'd rather error on the conservative side for now until I get a good re-tun at some point. When money permits i'd love to do a FAST along with a better tune for sure. Race started in 3rd gear at around 60 mph, so no 1k start there BlackBird lol

Don't just keep throwing power and mods at it. Get the tune fixed.... Thats the difference between a good running car and a bad one. I have a similar set up as you and it would take one hell of a ported blower cobra to pull me.

Yeah I have to wonder how much this tune is actually holding me back. I mean it runs just fine, it's just too damn rich up till 5k. I simply don't have the $600 + for a good custom dyno at the moment though unfortunately. What HCI combo do you run? I still have think that this Cobra would get me though. I mean a better tune and FAST may get me another 20-30 hp at best if i'm lucky I would imagine, and that Cobra is a good 500 rwhp and slightly lighter than stock. Who knows though lol...
