Yes a good running 760whp gt500 should be well into the 140s.

43lbs from the seat and 100lbs removed from the racestars. I over shot it by a bit but i was close off the top of my head. So 143lb in total. Plus the weight removal from deleted cats etc...

Theres more to going fast then power to weight and traction.
I agree. I think in cool weather when it made ~530 we would have been a good run. Warm weather I would give you a slight edge

It was not 143lbs. It was actually probably less then 100lbs. It was ~30 for seat and about ~60 for the wheels. Stop talking out of your ***. You were way off

Stock seat weighs 58, your bucket weighs 13lbs without rails and 15lbs with rails...

Racestars yield 100lbs loss refer to link.,

Id still rather own the GT500 having owned a 98 trans am. Even if the ls1 is faster the Ford is built better and for every day driving alot easier to get out of lol.

Idc what the link says. I weight them myself. Also 13lbs is without the brackets. With the 325s and 15x10s there was little weight savings in the rear. The front was also less then usual because they are 17s. Racestars are not that light.

They probably awared the guys at racestars that a potato was going to run there rims so they hooked you up. My rims weigh as much as they are listed. Funny how magically racestars aren't as light as they claim. Everyone is wrong but automach strong logic.

Lol..thread so funny. Buddy just got rid of his 2012 gt500 with a 13 blower and few other things on it. Traded for a stock 13 gt500 with 2k miles on it. It made 20whp more then his 12 and 15wtq on same dyno. He said even with the 3.31 gears vs 3.73 it feels faster. He is looking for a stock Z to run after he gets out Ranger school.

Awared? Wtf and I am the potato They probably do weight what they advertise. Backs where about 45lbs each with 325/50s. The fronts where about 25 each with the 185s. Stock wheels with 275s were ~50 each all the way around. So 200-140= 60 Derp.

If the Vette and GT500 swapped engines what would be the outcome? Yes, this is a unrealistic hypothetical but my point is the Vette would still win, maybe even by more. Weight, ride height, and aerodynamics will give the Vette a very nice advantage over just about any car in the world, much less another American made car. To prove my point, check out some videos on Vette vs GT40's, in those cases the tables were turned and the 40's could win with equal or even slightly less hp.

Anyway, both of those cars are badass.

The same advantage the Z06s have over most other cars...is the advantage my little old 280Z has over them. But I really enjoy the underdog horsepower wise kicking butt like in this vid

Yeah and that stock, 7 year old Vette is still faster than a brand spanking new 2013 GT100. Sad day for Ford! No wonder you're so salty all the time. Your team can't stop losing.

GT500's only need 100-110whp more to hang with a Z06. Honestly, these cars have different... "sweet spots".. with the gearing etc... 1st gear 30mph and dead hook on the Z is a very stong area... as you can see.

I personally just like something to shoot for beating.. I mean... it's not like we can waste our time on 5th Gen Camaro's anymore.
