LOL its close IMO from a roll im sure the extra ~150hp could beat the Z06 but a brand new C6Z with Z07 package vs 13 Gt500 from a dig im sure the Z would win because the gt500 is gonna spin more then the Z would due to tires. How ever its crazy what a good tire can do to the cars that are being debated, it can either make or break them...

How has it not? Its trapped higher, and on street has pulled the Z06. Et is a little hard when dealing with a lot more hp and tq. Members here even said the 13gt500 was faster then there stock Z06 on the street.
Granted the 07-09 was complete ****. 10-12 got a lot better but the 13 was a home run.

From the limited races we have seen the GT500 13 has the slight edge over a stock C6Z from a roll like half a car. But I think there was a race between the 2 over on svtp where the Z06 won iirc was a week or so ago. It's basically just a driver's race who ever cam shift better alone with roll speed advantage will win.
But what's sad is the 13 GT500 needs more power than any other year mustang it seems to run with a Z06

Both cars are about even in the quarter AND on the street from what I have seen. Drivers race guys, deal with it.
And go by what is happening on the streets. Few here ran stock vs stock and admitted the GT500 was a little faster. We don't race magazine articles cause if that the case they have taken the GT500 to 11.4@126. And several magazines have had the Z06 trap 123. Plenty guys have now went `128-129 stock an ran low 11's and 10.5-10.8 with just tires.

you and that pappa guy are probably the only two mustang guys on here that i would respect considering it seems like you two actually say if your mustangs are turds or not. but as far as them from a roll race what would you say the 13 GT500 should start at? like a 50 roll? maybe even a 60 roll?

The C6 Z06 has went a best of 10.9@128 in 100% stock trim. That was in 2006. No '13 GT500 has went 10s PERIOD. BTW, which stock GT500 trapped 129, source?

Yeah right, enough with the BS. Most guys are trapping in the mid 120's, in the real world at least. And again, the C6 Z has been 10.9's bone-stock and 10.7@130 with tire-only. Until a Shelby has eclipsed that number you cannot say its the faster car.

Got some news for you.. my pulley/tune 2012 can trap mid 120s. Average z06 traps are in the lower to mid 120s. The stock 10.9run you mention was a hero run and not an average exMple ofnhow the Z cars run at the track.
Average driver to average driver in both car, the Z will be on the losing end.

Whether or not they directly made it to compete with the Z06 is irrelevant because that's what everyone compares it to outside of magazines. Ford made a car to compete with other 60k cars not just the ZL1 imo. Not everyone goes oh wow I have 60k to spend I can only buy a new car, almost everyone is open to used cars as well and the Z06 happens to fall in that price range/performance used so it's almost always in consideration when someone is looking at the GT500 and vise versa.
