470 hp... no ****. If they're gonna lie about their power numbers, why lie by 100 hp or maybe even more? I'd guess that 306 has something like out-of-the-box Performer heads or the like, which are junk.

It's posts like this which shows the amount of nut-huggerness. What would you have said if that SN-95 actually had a good heads/cam set-up that would've dragged that cammed Z28 down the road? Excuses along the lines of "there's something seriously wrong with the Z28 and/or driver couldn't have drove any worse" comments would've came out of the woodworks.

Just speculation R-D. Every other post in SRK is jam packed with it and I'm just hoppin' aboard the speculation ho-train.

Yep, I agree.

Most of the time on here, if you see me making excuses or acting like a nut hugger; I'm doing it on purpose, being a smart a$$.

Just my way of showing some people what hypocrisy looks like.

Good point MAC and yes that's true some of the Mustang crowd does the same, and I say the same to them.

Sometimes it really seems like a lot of LSx folks on here have absolutely no idea what a nice 302 heads/cam car can do. Back when I had my '89 notch a few guys in my crowd had heads & cam 302 or 306 Foxbodys which ran high 11s very low 12s n/a. And they all were nitrous cars on top of it. Not the usual crap you see here on SRK.

Yea man.....I expect a cam only car to pull harder on a 13.0 car. Just the way it is. A solid bolt-on car would've pulled it by atleast that much.

Not nuthugging.....just calling it like it is.

I'm saying even with a good a "good" h/c package on the mustang. Which apparently it had if it made 470hp. Or someone has there info off.

When people claim outlandish numbers

I clump them in the same realm as "Cam only guys"

If you think a "good" h/c 302 Foxbody should only be a 13.0 car, you're one of them people who have absolutely no clue what a good h/c 302 can do. And I would not expect you to be that foolish either.

Lol yea im starting to see that a lot and i agree with you. SRK seems to be nothing but of the unicorn races that people win. No shame in losing you cant win them all.

When did we start talking fox body's? But if it were a fox with no wr I would not expect it to go much faster than 13.0

Besides this was a roll race. That leads to the ls1's advantage anyway. But yea....a 13.0 for a h/c 302 in a sn95 car is decent. But it should in no way keep up with a decent bolt-on ls1 car must less a cammed one.

A GT40/alphabet-cam car could probably run a 13.0, maybe even with stock gears. Any REAL H/C car will be significantly faster than that, and you know it. There's more hypocrisy; anybody that doesn't have every little mod you have "isn't really a bolt-on car," but you automatically go with the absolute worst H/C combo with the Mustang.

It would take a great day for a gt40 abc cam to run a 13.0 in a full weight fox. Probably a pretty good holeshot to.

You mean that they would have to try their hardest at the dragstrip? Imagine that.

Hio, you are completely clueless. The 5.0 notch with shorties, full exhaust, stock bottom end, stock E7 heads, E303 cam, 3.73 gears and bolt-on's, it was a 13.0 car full weight T5 trans. Once again, clueless.

This is why I expected it to be worse from the roll. The mustang does not get to use it's gearing and rear advantage on the roll. But I'm sure you already thought of that since your young inexperienced mind know's all from reading the intranets.

The Z28 had 4.10s and ET Streets...you act like it's running 3.42s and Goodyear Eagles or something.
