Stock 3vs have been faster than stock gen 2 LT1s Thor.

Link for 3v list? I like a 3v anyways.

They look good in my review mirror.

A s195 car is not that heavy.

Mod motors take more boost to keep up. If you are talking "mod motors" and not coyotes they don't take much boost at all unless its a termi or gt500.

Coyotes saving grace is e85 or rg. It can't keep up on pump either.

But i agree on the furd stuff being more developed. Even the blower sizes are built around them. A friend with a engine shop recently built a motor for a guy with a ls. We had lunch one day he was like "How come ls guys run such small blowers? This engine made 1000 tq at 3k rpm with a 2.9 whipple"

I told him because the industry is used to furd size blowers.
CAI/ORX/Tune put them in the 315RWP range, which isn't that far off from LS1 territory. The average Lid/tune/longtube LS1 is sitting around 330RWP. I would say that bolt on to bolt on, the 3V keeps up with the LS1, but once cams come in, the LS1 leaves it in the dust.

S197 3V's were 3600lbs, compared to the SN95 GT cars weighing 3300 and cobras at 3400lbs. My "pig" 97 thunderbird is 3700lbs.

I am in the process of installing a set of AFR heads, and a XFI 280 cam can not wait to surprise some Mustangs this coming summer.

Here on the east coast of Canada, the Mustang guys won't drag race their cars they park them out in the parking lot and watch the LS cars and the LT1 cars race. No shitting you.

I'd port match it to the heads and the throttle body too if you're running a 58mm

It helps, but nothing astronomical.

Geometry correction helps quite a bit on the boosted setups.

Big Hammer, i like reading your posts i get a good laugh from you i am still running the stock throttle for now. Hammer, do you know antbody up your way who can tune LT1's? There is nobody here i have to send the PCM, to PCM4Less for a mailorder tune.

Well....dynos will be dynos. But I've seen bone stock ls1s put down near 320 bone stock. I only dynod my ls1 once. It was on a mustang dyno and did 305whp with shitty mac headers, stock catbac, lid, maf and free mods....still on the ls1 intake to no tune. My guess atound 340 on a dj. Now notch's ls1 did 340 whp with no headers, ory, ls6 ported intake, udp and magnaflow catback.

Seems you may be a bit generous to the 3v and stingy with the ls1.

I knew a guy with a 2005 3V GT. I beat him in my Camaro when it was stock with a lid and blowmaster muffler (came with the car from the trade). He said his car was FBO, geared, and had Comp Cams. Also said it made 320whp after all that

I'm not above owning a 3v GT. I'd just prefer to have a GT500 instead.
