GTO Vs GTO
Did a few runs with SickLS2 last weekend. You have to pay attention to the description to know who is who since both cars are basically identical. Mine is the manual GTO. Couldn't hook to save my life from the 30 rolls (camera is on my car for those runs). The 50 rolls went much better for me (camera on SickLS2's car). Editing, etc done by MachXLR8. He and I ran too, but didn't have the camera on either car so that sucks. Also got to play with a blown/pulley/cam CTS-V that hangs out with us. He gave me a huge jump...and then ripped my front bumper off when he blew by, lol.
30 roll. Camera on m6 Goat
50 roll. Camera on A4 GTO.

Hey man, nice job! Your car is clearly stronger for sure! How much weight reduction do you have? BTW, I don't think I ever asked you, but how are you liking the Goat compared to the SS?

I am also a lighter weight guy than the other GTO driver, on top of our stock curb weights being about different to start with. I believe the manuals are close to/around 100lbs lighter, so it all adds up.
I like this GTO MUCH better than the blue vert SS. Its way nicer and the TQ curve is a lot broader too. I just got to get some traction so I can actually use it. I miss the black H/C SS though. I should've held on to that one

Gotcha! Yeah a buddy of mine has a 06 GTO (manual) and he recently did some high dollar Mast heads, big cam, and a ported Fast 92. Makes about 500 rwhp, and it's damn nice I must say! It's sooo much nicer than the f-body as far as comfort, build quality, etc... I'm hoping we'll line up soon, and that weight and gear advantage will be enough lol! Do a good HCI on that thing, and along with your weight reduction, it might surprise you lol

Can he hook up at all in his GTO? That should be a hell of a run for you on the spray.
I'm back and forth on camming it or just holding out for a blower. I'd love to go with a D1SC procharger this go-round. With the low end it has, I think a gradual build up of power would be easier to manage vs the sudden shock of nitrous or the instant TQ that a maggie provides.

Yeah he's on Nitto dr's like me, and we both hook fine n/a (from a 2nd gear roll) but on the sauce I can only finally get traction in 3rd...it just blows the tires off bad in 2nd lol! I think the 4.10's are mostly to blame here lol! We should be a good run n/a to n/a and bottle to bottle i'm hoping.
I agree a D1SC would probably be perfect for the LS2 as far as the ideal power delivery...especially if just running an average dr and rim setup. I love the sound of a cammed LS motor, but a centrifugal blower would probably be the fastest setup considering things like traction and whatnot

Are those your current numbers, Guitar. If so, that GTO might have something for you. I think it would be a good run between you two.
I'll let you know man.

They are, but the numbers lie a little bit. I've added nothing power wise since my dyno, 3.90s are about the only thing that I've 'added' - besides the added weight of the 9" probably cancelled that out. I've even got my DD wheels on right now! Lol. I put a bus length or two on Bryan from a roll at the Piedmont DR if that's an indication. Then again that was before his stall, he's been too afraid to race since. And Trey knows how my car runs per the run I did with his.

I'll run ya in the Goat, Guitar. But yea, I know that TA pulls pretty strong from experience. My H/C SS was able to get in front of it, but it took a few seconds and a locked up stall to do it.
It would be a close enough run to be entertaining, but that TA should put at least a couple cars on the old goat.

I love those cars so much. Everything but those ******* A/C *****...ugh. How they designed such a fantastic interior and then thought those belonged in it I'll never understand.
