Nice kill. Those cams are mild because they were suppose to be production cams.

Honestly, there was a ton of bad info floating around about 331/347s for the longest time and that's why a lot weren't all that much faster than a heads/cam 302. People putting 185 heads on a 347 because ermagherd 205s+ would "kill low end torque" and "hurt velocity"...or GT40/GT40p/GT40x heads and they'd run even more sluggish. That mindset is still alive sometimes on Corral and it kills me...

Yes! In one of the other LS1 circle jerks I tried to explain this. I was 19-20 when i did this 347 build. My HCI 5.0 put down 310rwhp, I built the 347 stroker but didnt have the money to upgrade the H/C/I so i just transferred those parts over onto the 347 with the plan to upgrade them at a later date. Ended up selling the car to buy a house before i did that. I put down 359rwhp with that set up. Ran 12.2 on street tires because i always run my cars in street trim no slicks skinnies for me. There is no talking sense into LS1 drivers. Wierd part is when i had that car i ran several buddies with LS1s and smacked them. Somehow on this site they all run low 12s pretty much stock.

...and if you ask me, there's nothing wrong with swapping over to a stroker with the same parts as long as you're okay with the fact that it's not going to "increase" power by much, but it'll move it lower in the rev-range.

I probably sound like a broken record but Kevin (Stopsign) made 456rwhp N/A with his 331 stroker. Trick Flow 205s & off the shelf Comp cam. Nowadays, the info is out there if you go to hardcore50, sbftech, yellowbullet, etc. Corral is sloooooooooooooowly getting better but I mean slowly. Still lots of 65mm throttle body and B-cam recommendations floating around there, too

Yea did the same thing hear with my build except I retained completely stock heads, and still put down over 500rwhp and 490rwtq thrue gears and irs.
Not bad for a turd LS motor. My Cammed lt car had been mid 12's up here in 3,000 plus D/A also and it made a single pass, like a 1.9 60'

Yes..you are correct. When i was researching cams for my car, I looked at the lift and durations for the stock cams and noticed that they are pretty close to the FR500s. The FR500's were a little more aggressive though.

Only mistake I did with my 331 was reuse my extrude honed intake. I wanted something from my 302 to reuse. I finally replaced it this year with a Tmoss Ported Holley. Wish I did afr 205s and more cubes with that r block.

Snake is right about the Corral. P head this,Fms cams that....blah blah blah
