Ssr Any one "run" across these yet ? I seen one Sunday (5/16) and tried to get the dude to bite, but he wasn't interested.
I seen the specs on these things from the web site: Vortec 5300 V8 has 300 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque .
Not too shabby for a "part roadster,part pickup" but kinda expensive (starts @ $42k) for this thing...

Last week, I was in the left turn lane, waiting to turn and was revved at by an SSR going straight.
It sounded pretty sweet. Was very tempted to go after him but was running late for a FEDEX drop. Doh.

I was lightly getting into the throttle in 1st, shifted second and heard a V8 downshift and nail it from behind in the next lane. I immediately went back to first at WOT. The unknown vehicle got next to me momentarily until I was into second where I pulled him back behind me before I (we) let off do to traffic. I studied the yellow thing with my rearview mirror for awhile before I realized it was the 1st SSR I'd seen on the road. I turned off and gave him a thumbs up. He didn't even look over. It had a nice rumbly sound to it

U P f-ing S. Sorry guys, but the big brown truck has not done me wrong in any of my packages. FEDEX on the other hand has fugged up twice with my packages. Haven't tried USPS for anything big yet though.
I wouldn't worry. Local girl bought an SSR and my boss got the chance to drive it. He said that the thing is a friggan dog, especially from a roll. He said that our new short wheel base Yukon with 4:10s is more fun to drive. Not sure what the SSR has for gears but I believe the Yukon 5.3 is rated the same.

SSR is turtle sloooow...has a vette price and no ***** at all..5.3 motor and 300HP..didn't feel like it when I drove it...on top of that it is HEAVY...the 2005 version will have the LS2 motor..GM screwed the consumers again..if ur gonna build a hot rod truck put a hot rod motor in it..should have put the LS1 or better yet the LS6 in the damn thing to start with..then they would have had something...GM just aint building any hot rods anymore...now I feel better after that little vent
