legit like 2 weeks after the Z06's official numbers were announced, dodge goes and ups the ante.

I'm a chevy guy to the bone but I love what dodge is doing here. Granted I know the car wont handle as well as it should (putting all that power through those skinny rear tires??) but this is damn impressive, it will really ignite the american car horsepower wars!

I want to see how Ford and Chevy will fire back next year!

Considering its gonna have 275 20s that thing will be lucky to hit 11s 100% stock, now with DRs another story.

Looks awesome tho, Challenger and Mustang killed the camaro in looks this generation

why is it when it comes to challengers, they come out with something awesome and new like this, everyone is just like "yeah that's cool" and just goes about their business....?

Haters are out in full force.

Dodge has already boldly claimed it to be the FASTEST muscle car in history. Period. Dont take that lightly. They benchmarked this car against the ZL1 and GT500.

Its faster. The 6spd went 10.90's on a drag radial and the auto is faster.

At the end listen to the way this thing shifts. Sounds pretty damn quick. If this thing can get close to dct shift speeds watch out.

seems to be a lot of animosity towards the dodges, but dam the challenger is sharp. i like them, and this hellcat is badass whether it can hook that power from a dig or not.

I wish I could blame it on the driver, but its an automatic. Considering the heat, he shoulda been mid-low 13... but not mid 12s.
i hate to go to bat for them but a mopar built properly will run very well. and make a believer out of the most skeptical.. case in point, i see you are tuned by tune time? Ask matt about Eddie Perez's 5.7 auto RT (5spd auto at that)... small blower stock cam, internals NEVER touched, stock converter. just LT's and the blower 11.30's ON STREET TIRES @124mph. and not on some -2500'DA day either.. he's done it at e town and atco and Eddie is a long time customer of matt's and a good friend.

my point is, the hellcat on a tire in auto form? low 11 second car all day long. little doubt in my mind and i can't wait to see it run.. i have a feeling now that good ol' eddie sold that challenger he will jump on this one lol

I just can't believe the HP you can buy off the showroom floor these days. Just 15 years ago, 700 HP was a highly specialized setup with little reliability and few and far between on builds. Now you can buy a Challenger with 700+, a Vette with 650, Viper with 640, and the outgoing Shelby with 660.

If you would have told anyone 15 years ago, that this would be the new "norm" for horsepower, they would have spit their beer in your face laughing.

Good times to be a gear head indeed - wonder how long it will last?

Car should run good. But I wish the manufacturers would get back to less feature laiden cars to get cost down, think z28 but cheap. I'm just not interested in paying $50,000+ for anything that has wheels. This thing will probably near 70k.

I admire Dodge for playing the 1-up game and pushing the HP wars, but the Challenger is the king of all pigs.

They specifically say fastest "Muscle Car", so I'm sure they are not comparing it to the Vipers, ZR1s, and GT500s. Probably just SRT Chargers, Camaro SS's, and Mustang GTs.

A C6Z will still hang with this thing. Yes it has 200hp less...but weighs over ONE THOUSAND POUNDS less (conservative estimate, could be as much as 1,500!). I think you guys will be surprised at how many cars will perform similar in a straight line, while handling a million times better then this land yacht.

Thats the question. I would have to expect it will, all jokes aside. If it didn't, it'd be a sad day in Mopar history.

LMAO You gotta say Bone-Stock-Stock-Tire. Cuz you know... they'll say its a bone stock run on drag radials and then claim it the norm for all street tired cars also.

Because the beef is generally Ford v GM here, and when Mopars get brought up, everyone is normally like 'who, what, lolgtfo'

On a drag radial vs on a street tire... Want to see what it runs OUT the box, on the tires it comes on out the factory. Anyone runs faster on drag radials. At least there's hope for mid 11s then if it runs 10.9 on a radial.

I'm sure they also compare it to the GT500, after all it's just a Mustang. Not a supercar.
