Default 03 cobra vs cam/fast ls1

Ran my coworker today who has an '02 ss m6, trex cam with stock heads and a fast 90 intake/tb, longtubes with open cutout and 9" with 4.11's. My car has the mods in the sig. Mine made 501/501 whp/tq and his made 421whp(forget the torque) and they were ran on the same dyno, but different days.

We did 2 45ish rolls, both in 2nd gear. First race he tapped the limiter on one of his shifts so I pulled about 3 solid cars on him. Second race was clean from both of us, he pulled a little thru 2nd, I pulled back ahead by a half car or so by the end of third, then by the end of 4th I had probably about 2 solid cars on him. Was some good runs. His car being stock heads it ran better than I expected, it's also full weight plus the 9".

Here's vids, I had the damn camera pointed the wrong way as we were expecting it to be a bit tighter, but it always seems that when I point the camera forward I always win so sometimes I do that on purpose haha. Enjoy...

Seems about right.....it should take a ported blower car to outrun a cam only car.

Good run

No spray on my end.

Roxas, no point on a dig as neither of us would hook up. He was only on a 275 555r. We'll save the digs for our next track day.

Nice runs! Knowing what T-Rex cars are capable of, that's a strong running Cobra for sure.

Or, a good set of heads should get the job done.

Good run Colin! As expected my friend Just to give you guys a little background here: This car made 421 rwhp to my 396 rwhp on the same dyno...on the same day as well. He has a better intake, bigger cam, and is around 100 lbs lighter than me. The only thing i have over him is heads. Yet despite the dyno numbers difference I'm a much closer race with ctgreddy. Again proving that dyno numbers don't mean crap...even if you can't make sense of it for whatever reason lol

It depends.....The way I figure it if ct's blower was not ported then yes he would get beat by a cam only car. But since his blower is ported it probably takes a h/c car if both are at full weight.

Heads should suffice. A little less gear would help the camaro too on the roll.

I wouldn't run anything taller than a 4.10/4.11 with that cam. T-rex is very "peaky".

Ok well some custom grinds/longtubes and back to needing a kit.

It takes all that just to take out a heads/cam f-body? Not good.
