stock c7z06 vs bolt on c6z06
I wasn't able to link it from youtube but Im sure someone will shortly.
Its called c7z06 vs bolt on c6z06 and its two awesome races.
The c6z has intake headers and tune.
My impression is that a c7z06 will smack a stock c6z06.
It appeared to be just slightly faster than the modded c6z06 or at a minimum dead even.
Awesome races and the c7z is the real deal my friends.
Another stocker just went 10.6 @ 130 mph with the only mod being drag radials.
A new era has arrived.
Out with the old and in with the new

from what i saw the c6 zo6 was clearly faster. only reason the c7 got away the 2nd race was because the c6 spun bad. you can hear it spinning noticeably from the in car vid and the driver having to make the right steering adjustments to keep itr straight is in plain view. Nice races. I bet both owners came out of that one a bit surprised

What I saw was the c6z06 take the hit the first race and then the c7z still door to door and look like it was about to pull in fourth gear.
Second race the c6z06 spun.....
But going by the first race to me the c7 looked just a tick faster if they both hit it even.
No doubt the c6z is impressive for a nine year old platform.
But jeeze this is stock verses modded and the c7 was right there.
Any stock car that can hang with or pull a modded c6z is a bad ******

The c6z is barely modded and the supercharged c7z had its hands completely full. Even having the advantage of no passenger. The impressive car here is still the c6z.

First race was a pretty even hit. And the c6z even had a passenger while it looked like the c7z didn't.

I'm sure a tune on a pretty much stock C7Z06 will do the trick. GM is awesome with the electronic nannies, with that said, i'd still take the C6Z06 any day of the week over the new one, one day i'll have one of those bad boys in my garage. just waiting for the prices to fall down a bit more, i'm sure i'll be able to pick up an LS7 vette for myself in about 3 years or so with low miles.

I agree about the passenger comment.
I overlooked that.
As far as the c6z06....you can seriously get them in the low 30s if you really look. Hell of a car for the money.
But...I'd choose the c7z all day if money was no issue
I prefer the front end of the c6z06 and that 7.0 n.a. motor. Everything else I give to the c7.

There was a video floating around on corvetteforum for a few days before it got locked/deleted of a intake/tune C6Z pulling a couple of lengths on a stock C7Z. I'm sure the C7Z will respond better to boltons than the C6Z, but I'm glad the C6Z doesn't need much to hang with a stock one. I have always had a thing for light weight NA cars and the C6Z just looks so damned good compared to the more "boy racer" look of the C7Z (imo). Call me jealous or say I can't afford it, but I'm not feeling any desire to upgrade to the C7Z.
