Default Pretty fast 5.0 vs 04 GTO

Ritilan Version 130 + traps are not enough

Details: Haven't posted in here for a while. Noticed a lot of Mustang posts, welcome guys. Opening night at Ennis Texas on 13 March 2015. We had Ethyl out shaking her down. We had agreed we were not going to race anyone. Sitting in the staging lanes a really beautiful white 5.0 pulls up. He came in in a covered trailer so my guess is he wasn't stock. He had slicks and skinnies. I gave him the thumbs up, our windows were down and we were sitting side by side. I told him his car looked nice. He never actually responded so anyhow he seemed upset after the race. Track prep wasn't that great but I am figuring he has about a mid 10 second ride. Enjoy the videos.

If anyone is interested here is an in car

He seemed a little angry

62na was that you in the White Gen V?? It's no secret what has been done, actually posted in the Forced induction thread. Unfortunately it is under the Whipple build. We had a Whipple and a 408 but the 4.0 liter Whipple and 408 combo just was under powered so we went with twin turbos, 6266's built by Reed Partridge at Works Turbochargers. We wore out the 408 LQ9 and now have a 430 Ci LSx in it. Pushing 1256 rwhp through an unlocked stall, TH400, and Ford 9" IRS to 10.5 Hoosiers. We are running her on alcohol. I know it seemed a little bullyish to kick the little mustang puppy but I can't get any to go on the street they mostly just want to do flybys. On the street we are running 760/760- on 8 PSI, gates only, that netted us a 10.43 @ 145. High boost using the Co2 activated controller got us a 9.2 @ 154 again with lousy track prep. I have vids of the shakedown passes to include the 9.2 pass in the Forced Induction Section. The car would not 60' well. We have been working on the suspension and hope to get an ET commensurate with the trap speed next time out. Give a shout out to Kenny Seigler for some great shots.

Victor Flores provided these shots

WRP's car is a beast by any standard.

LS with extreme engineered 4 liter blower is what it had the last time i read about it.

K, I ember you now, say hello next time yep the Whipple wasn't enough, no matter how much I loved it. Car sounds kind of mild until the boost kicks in. The 9.2 pass was only on 60% or around 16 psi we've boosted it up to 23 psi

well man if you remember I push turbo charger over blowers every time.

aside from exhaust plumbing, a turbo system is just easier.

I certainly have nothing to tell you, but leaving on a turbo and ramping boost is KING of racing aside from a rail job.

I also don't have anything to say but first rate attention to detail that is lacking in 99 percent of builds.

there is no telling how Ethyl will perform with time and chassis tuning.

inspirational man. seriously.

Cus you'd drag all the mustang guys here.

They mostly like to pick on bolt-on cars/engines after they've swapped blowers while running race gas or other stockish stuff.

I mean I realize I was like totally kicking a puppy there but......The guy in the vid was hauling ***. There is no doubt he was a mid 10 second car. I was very close to buying one of the Boss Mustangs but heard they were going to IRS and decided to stick with my known problems. I like the Mustangs, thinking like Ford finally gets it. The IRS decision totally baffles me.Help me identify this Mustang. I was on low boost and stopped his pull and began to pull just using the gas pedal in third. I know it was a V8, he threw a rev at me earlier. I am figuring it was a 5.0 because of the rounded look of the *** on the flyby. I realize it could have been a 6 cylinder with 5.0 badges on it.

I think we rounded that one off around warp 7, don't think he expected us to get there that fast.

I had a 2012 5.0 it was a low 11s car all day. But I still liked my GTO over the 5.0 even though for just bolt ons the 5.0 was clearly a lot faster.
