Default 12 Genesis Sedan vs 80 El Camino

So I'm out cruusing last night. And a guy in a convertible G6 goes by me and revs at me while I'm turning. So I follow him to the edge of town and we finally get lined up at a light. I run off and leave him when the light turns green, yet he keeps following me. I go to the loop, and stop and wait for him. He ask to run them, so I said sure. I commenced to put a football field length on him to about 100. He stops and asks for redemption. Said he's going to get his El Camino and wants another run. So I wait about 30mins and he shows up with it. We head out of town again, and this is what happened...

Genesis is stock. El Camino has headers, Cam, and exhaust.

*Cliff notes* Bust some guys *** in his G6 for revving at me. He gets mad and goes and gets his "faster" car for redemption.

Very true! My dad has a 2013 Genesis Sedan, and it's a very nice car and deceptively fast for what it is and how heavy it is. Just never knew how much power they made. He had a 05 Mustang gt and I remember him saying he thought the Genesis would give it a run lol

I raced my buddy's 07, and he got me by 2.5 to 120. That's with him being tuned also. Stock for stock he said it would probably be dead even. That was with my having heavy *** 20s on there also (42lbs each). Those are gone now But the 5.0 version is suppose to be good for a high 12 low 13.

Nice run.....

I bought a 1 year old 07 Sonata as a used rental car with 30K on it. 170K miles later it was a totally trouble free car........I'd buy another one in a heartbeat............
When its time for me to buy again, I'd seriously consider an 13> Genesis Coupe V6.....

Can't really beat 10yr 100k drive train warrant they offer. And the Gen Coupes aren't any slouch either. 34xhp in a 3200lb car. That could hurt some feelings for sure

I had a 2013 genesis coupe 3.8 track (V6 manual) last year and it was a total blast. I could beat on stock 5th gens until 60 mph then they would obviously blow my doors of lol. Car was a blast to drive and was quick for what it was.

Now that's pure sex right there

He said he would beat me down low, but up top I'd take him. That his car was set up for a 1/4. I was like **** I'm fixing to get bus lengthed lol. I could've stopped before 80, but I wanted to make a point for him making me waste gas 3xs....

So looks like I hurt someone's feelings last night...lol. And he lied about ALL of his mods. Has a stroker set up for nitrous. Guess that's why he didn't say all that lol

Is it a built 388? As in heads, cam, and intake? Or is it just a 350 bored to a 388 with all the same 350 parts? Cause he didnt list any mods other than full exhaust, turbo400, and 4.10 gears. If that's the case, then I can see you beating him with him on motor only.
