Default 335i vs Ss 5th gen vert

Sold my z28 a couple months ago and just been toying with the 335i the wife and I already had. Very surprised with these cars.

335i mods: jb4( map 5 for auto tuning), dual cone intakes, downpipes, exhaust and intercooler. Race gas mix to give over 100oct. Just incase I need to run map 7 for race gas. 3800lbs with me in it.

5th gen SS: looked stock and prob auto

I was cruising down the interstate on the way to get some food for the family and notice him coming up in the lane next to me. I just jump in behind him and follow him. He gradually picks up speed( I'm guessing to see if I was going to also). Well the car in the other lane is staying ahead of him also, so I just give it some gas to pass him and he stomps it and won't let me around. So I slow down and get back behind him again. Next thing he does is hits the brakes hard( transfer truck changing lanes and didn't care). Well, we get back to an open stretch and I jump in the other lane. I see the front of his car lift and I just hammer down. I easily go past him. I shut it down and slow back to about 10 over the speed limit and now the guy won't even get back next to me. Guess he realized if he can't win a race with over a car length headstart there was no reason to try again.

I know it wasn't fair, but I guess he though a BMW with mufflers would be an easy kill.

N54 cars are no slouches. They can move out. I've surprised quite a few 5th gens with my 335xi

Yeah, very surprised with what just some easy bolt ons can do with these cars. Even more surprised seeing stock internals holding 800+whp on them..

Yeah, stock this car is suppose to be mid 13's around 103-16 traps.. I know it has shaved 6 secs off its 0-120 time vs stock.

Bully. Fifth gen with a 200 shot would likely close the gap, maybe...

Funny thing is my buddies 09 335i A6 has the same mods as yours except for the upgraded intercooler and he had someone try to do a ricer flyby on him in a hardtop M6 Gen 5 yesterday.

The BMW railed the Gen 5 lol!

Good runs. Been looking to run a 5th gen myself, but no luck so far. Even end up running solo most of the time lol

Pretty much lol. I believe one of our other members had a Bimmer as well, though, I think his was limited to minor bolt ons and a tune without getting REALLY expensive. They run hard as hell with bolt ons though. Nice ride!

I've spent 2k on this thing so far.. probably end up with another 1k in it to finish bolt ons and get a custom map for it.... Turbos will be later down the road, but that's minimum 2k for them.

Just keep it stock turbos till they figure how to make everything work. The motor can hold 750-850whp all day, but it still run in the 120s
