His car runs good. The new 5br0's run good. Just not as good as 5gens. And you know how it is around here if one car runs .0001 faster then it's way faster.

This is what I get out of all of this. Everyone is bringing up the best times of the 6th gen and comparing it to Poppa's car. Now papp's car actually runs on the faster side of the bro's I've seen, bone stock and modded for his weight. His car definitely ran better stock, and modded than 98% does around me. Last week at the track one ran a 14.77 @103 and most were all over the place in the 13's with a couple 12's. I have most on video.

So I really don't see an issue comparing the ones that are being mentioned. Poppa's car runs really good IMO, I think his car has been at the higher end of what they run stock and modded. So I think it should be compared to the faster runs of a bone stock 6th gen, yes? No shame in modding to keep up, we all have to do it.

But I will keep this in mind though for the next bashing of the ls1 needing mods to run with a 5.bro

I'll also add, that no matter if someone can admit it, the 6th gen is hurting feels, or people wouldn't act like it's no big deal that it takes mods to beat a stock one. I've sure read my fair share of crap being slung our way about needing mods to hang with a bro. So it has to mean something. It's funny that it's come full circle now, no? I lol'd

Pretty much. Personally I think it's awesome that the horsepower wars are back. It's incredible to have cars capable of 10's and 11's in bone stock form. Why can't we all just stop the dick measuring contest and just enjoy the cars?

this is exactly why the 5 liter mods can wait until the turbo car is on the road. always something new with crazy power these days. it wasn't too long ago a ferrari with 492hp was just a picture on the wall. now 492hp is weak. it will never end i guess.

The 5br0 just caught up to 2002 in 2011. It has made a few improvements since but still only caught up to 2007 with the ls3. This don't make it bad......but now it's behind the lt by a solid margin. Hopefully it won't take 8-10 yrs for furd to catch up again.

I do. I've had 6 mustangs, 4 Fbodies, 2 thunderbirds, 1 1970 cougar, 2 C4 vettes, an 05 GTO, a 93 300zx, an RX8, and a Prelude. Hell, right now I have both the WS6 that I daily, and a thunderbird that I plan on building.

Because I got it for basically nothing, they have a special significance to me, no one builds them, they're extremely comfortable inside, and I want to prove that a 3700lbs ford can run hard without forced induction. Basically I want 12's for $1500 and I think I can do it.
