I just read the article, what a complete piece of ****. It couldn't even match a run of the mill bolt on car. Failure.

There are many variables. Me and a bud built a very mild 408 for a guy years ago and i doubt it would run 10s as it sets. But i know how to get it there if he would ever want. And it wouldn't be very difficult.

That said the 408 car was done 8-10 yrs ago and the guy absolutely loves it. It's instant on, has a tight converter so it feels responsive and has a pretty small cam. It has a iron block so it's heavier than stock and has never been on a dyno or drag strip. A drag car wasn't the goal there.

With where things are today it would be very easy to do a cam only car to run with it. Being ignorant of these advancements is where i have a problem with people.

It should run 9s on spray. I have a gmhtp laying around somewhere that has a bolt on ls1 and some spray that ran 9s.

You're right, Dug, Top 2 guys on the fast list who are above shop cars are the norm. How could I be so silly.

There are many ways to build a car. The race is to accelerate the car. Not just make power.

I'll give you another example. I ran a guy at the track who wouldn't even answer how big his engine was. All he would say is it's big......big with a super charger. He looked at the back of a bolt on ls6 camaro all the way down the track. Was it proper?

My car has less holes than you guys cry.

Hio way works.....sure keeps this bunch in a tissy.

Well....if you aren't talking to 62 or rhino about making your l99 5gen fast you have did it wrong. Especially if they are shop cars because I'm sure they would love to sell you the parts/install them/tune it for you.

It would be like someone pm'ing you to make their car fast. Why would they do that when they can pm hammer, Redbird, darth, vetteboy or myself and there are others doin well also.

Clearly, as 62 and Rhino are the top two of the list, above shop cars.

Definitely going to be the norm and things many of us see.

You can always just pay attention to the bottom of the list and hang out therefor the "norm" if you like i suppose.

But I'm lookin for the top of the "list" for my "norm" and there is no reason others shouldn't either......unless stupid

To each their own. To call others stupid and belittle them just because they aren't at the top of the list is a douchebag move either way.

Martin has said himself that his car isn't simple and has a lot into it.

Your average Joe simply isn't going to drop $6k on a wheel conversion package. If that makes people "stupid", then I guess everybody is stupid in your world except you and a select few and 99% of the people on this very SRK section are stupid as well.

I personally like to switch arms to keep the minuscule muscle mass equal and evenly proportioned.

HIO, 3500 would be race weight. If you will notice I said previously 3250 W/O driver.
