305 vs 302
#101
I could see where logical logic would bother you.
It woulda been easy enough for gm to squeeze another 10hp out of the 305 with added development. But it wasn't in production to even compete. Now here is the kicker....the regular 30poo never out powered the 305. It took the cobra version. That would be no different than chevy doin a more high performance 305. They coulda used a l98 or or used vortec heads that would of only been 1 yr after the 30poo went out of production. After all the 305 made 220 hp in a truck application there
As far as my ls6 goes. .....it's not a swap. More of a replacement. It took no wiring....it took no mount changes...no accessory changes. Hell i drove it for a while on the ls1 tune. It went 12.0 or 12.1 on the ls1 tune and oe catback with out even a dr. So that's why it's really nothing at all.
Now my uncle and i put a ls1 in a 56 bel air......that's a "swap"
My 93 notch with a termi motor is a "swap".
My ls7 when it goes in my camaro or vette will be a "swap". Although a mild swap in the camaro.
A duramax in a mid 80's truck is a "swap"
There are swaps.....then there are replacements. Swaps = changes needed to make happen. Replacements require no changes.
You should be worried about someones logic that thinks any different.

You can't do if's and maybes, I did that with the aussie modular motors, but since it was never offered over here, it's invalid to you. Same goes for a potential 305, they never made it, thus it doesn't fit in your argument.
So when I swapped a 4V motor into my 96 GT, it doesn't count as a swap. Since it was offered in the same car, bolted in, required no wiring, and ran on the stock tune, it's not a swap.
And by that same logic, I can swap in a termi motor into a 96 mustang GT and it would be considered a replacement.

Nope....nice try tho
You're an absolute dumbass. God damnit.
So did you or did you not rip out the LS1? Yes you did.
Did you or did you not put in (swap in) an LS6? Yes you did.
That's a swap you crock of ****.
You SWAPPED the LS1 for the LS6. ******* ***** can't stop gargling Chevy for one second.

And no....i didn't rip the ls1 out. The dealer did when they was goi to warrenty the ls1.

All that is the same when replacing the ls1 with a 6.
Sure man....swap that termi motor. Same friend swapped one in a 99 mustang. Changed the wire harness/pcm to make it happen......again not needed on the ls1 to ls6 change. Try to make that bitch run on the 99 mustang oem pcm....then do it with out a tune. Post pics of the canage please.
I can't believe you guys are so ******* stupid you lump everything in one catagory.
I bet you dumb ******* don't know dick from *****......in your eyes they're both sex organs

Funny.....cause a friend swapped a 4v and it ran like **** till it was tuned. I'm pretty sure it took wiring changes also and a different intake. Not 100% sure cause they went to headers but i don't think the exhaust was the same either.

So you're running an LS1 intake and an LS1 tune on your car? LS1 fuel rail, LS1 EGR, LS1 steam pipes, etc?
I honestly don't know if you're a troll, or if you actually believe the **** that you spew. If you're a troll, you get a gold star; If you believe it, I am so sorry for whatever happened in your life that made you that stupid.

Actually one could argue its not a direct swap on Hio car. LS6 had bigger injectors,No EGR,different MAF that required different value in the tune as well as a different connector compared to the original LS1. It would also need rev limiter moved up since 02 LS6 required 6500 shift points

Mine ran fine on the GT tune, a friend put down 278 to the wheels on the stock GT tune as well. I had to extend one wire about 3 inches. You are correct about the exhaust manifolds, but I just used the ones that came with the motor.
So you're running an LS1 intake and an LS1 tune on your car? LS1 fuel rail, LS1 EGR, LS1 steam pipes, etc?

I done said i ran the ls1 tune to 12.0 or 12.1. Ls1 fuel rail.....check.
i coulda used the ls1 intake but i already had the egr turned off so no reason to. I was gonna buy a ls6 intake for the ls1 anyway. Btw.....how well does a 4v intake fit a 2v?
Ls1 steam port you don't use with a ls6 intake even on a ls1......unless its a 01 02 steam port. So yea i used a 01 ls1 steam port.

Ls1 maf values unchanged to this day.
Ls1 maf (granitelli ls1 maf) ran clean to 11.1@124
Don't have to move the rev limit. Gm offered a ls6 h/c package and it was offered with no tune. Even warrantied if dealer installed with no tune. But a ls1 hypertech does that just fine to 6600rpm. No requirement on shift points.
The great part is that yes it is just that easy to put a ls6 in where a ls1 was. After 01 in fcars you even use the ls1 intake
Same with gto.....same with vettes.

Well look at you. Confirming that the 4v is not a replacement for the 2v.....thanks.

Google ftw
Ls1 injectors.....yup they work.

Sorry....hammer beat you to it
Sweet......load up your stock tune and go giver' hell. Please vid.
