Roll Race: 06 CTS-V Paxton SC vs. 11 CTS-V M6 pulley/intake/tune
Just wanted to throw this up, this is my 06 LS2 cam/heads/centrifugal supercharged V, 5.5psi VS. my buddy's 2011 V M6 with Hennessey's V600 package (intake tune and pulley not sure size 12-14psi)
gives a good idea of the weight difference of the two
*this race was before I had the 8.8, meth and new pulley. It made around 600whp during the race
-sorry for the cheesy "youtube" music intro

Nice kill, and VERY nice car. I have wanted to do a V1 build for a long time. (Probably because a v2 is way out of my budget lol) how much was the 8.8? And stock bottom?

Depending on how you source it, it can run around 2k to 4k for the 8.8. I went with the whole CS kit, which ran me 4k, but had upgraded DSS axles, and their newly built ford 8.8 with my selection of gears, etc.

Yes stock bottom end, thanks!
The 8.8's are a little pricey but totally worth it.
I came from a 900 whp YSI TA, 850whp turbo c5z and 750whp A&A c6z and tried the gen2 V (test drove multiple ones) and no doubt they are superior in most ways they lose the raw feeling from LS cars that I love. Since it is not my dd I decided on the v1, plus they are quite a bit lighter. Don't let the "rear end" scare away you from getting one. I was on the stock rear end and never blew it with 600+whp, just swapped that 8.8 bc I was pushing the limits and didn't want to risk it anymore.

Another thing I could do is put my forged motor and turbo setup in a V1 and put the V1 motor in my catfish lol
I do a motor atleast once a month at work and swap all my toys, so it's just another day for me.

You have had some cool stuff, and I would do the rear swap just was looking for a ball park cost. Odthetruth says 4g for the whole kit, which is not too bad.
