Base camaro ran good. Cheapest car in the test by 45k. Only .2 off the carbon wheeled 2 seat gt350r in the qtr that you can't even buy for list price.
Hey cman.....i thought trap speed didn't matter.
Funniest thing i found was that the 1le beat that same red z28 at laguna by .1 but lost out to a proper z28 at vir by 3 sec........hhhmmm. Seems like my theory about that red z28 at chuchwalllalala holds true.
Good to see 2 great american pony cars in the top 5!

Z/28 vs GT350R Head to Head, dated December 14, 2015. That's only one week before Long Term Update 5 in which he said "A FEW WEEKS BACK". That would be 3 or more weeks ago. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/...t350r-mustang/
The Z/28 had new tires in the Head to Head comparison.
Anyways, it wouldn't surprise me all that much that the 1LE is quicker around Laguna Seca. It's lighter, better chassis on a smaller track - that'll close the gap between it and the Z/28, more so than VIR, which favors powerful cars. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Z/28 used for Laguna Seca was not the stripped out model.

.2 and 4 mph vs the r model. And about $ 20,000.
So it will be a drivers race against the track pack on the strip and road course for 12000 less. An add on to a lowly SS vs fords best mustang that ever exhisted lol.and at a far cheaper price... WOW. GM engineering is world class.
Guess I forgot to be disappointed.

Cheapest at 45k and cheaper by 45k. They say right in the article that dealers are getting 25k over msrp for the gr350r. The gt350r is 20+k more tgan the 1le. So i was being conservative at 45k more
Really you guys seem to cry about trap the most.
Yup....ive already posted that to bsck up what i said......like twice now. Like i said i am very suspicious of that z28 LONG TERM car. Other z28 has tested significantly better. I see no reason for a 1le to out perform a z28 on any track really. Typically the gap is very consistent with length of track.
With out same day same track comparison wuth 2 fresh cars we may never know......unless you conseed to vir the z28 being faster than the gt350r.
Furd don't want the gt350 and the 1le on the track at the same time. They've proved that by passing up on doin it twice now.
Z/28 long term update 5, dated December 22, 2015: "A few weeks back, my evening commute was interrupted by a flat tire noise but without the flat tire ride and handling. Turns out a strip on the inner edge of the left front tire had delaminated and was whipping against the wheelwell. The outer edge of the contact patch had life left in it, but the inner edge was completely worn out due to the serious negative camber specified by the track alignment. Just shy of $2,400 later, a new set arrived at the office for its $120 mounting appointment." http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevr...term-update-5/

Must be looking at the wrong article. Because I saw a camaro ss with the 1le option that was designed for roadcourse work, nipp at the heels of the GT350R (1.6 sec behind). The R is about 5 seconds faster around a track than the base GT350s, not to mention it ETs 0.2 lower and traps 2mph faster. Not too mention that it still crushes the 5.0s at the 1/4.

You've posted that twice for proof that the Z/28 had worn out tires during the testing, but in reality it points to the Z/28 having new tires for that test, so what do you mean back up what you said? It explicitly disproves what you said.
You're only suspicious because it loses to a superior track car? You're getting paranoid, brother.
We've already had our same day same track comparison. We've seen the Laguna Seca times. The only outlier here is the VIR run, which the Z/28 has recorded a faster time. In which any Furd fanboy could argue that the GT350R could have worn out tires in the VIR lightning lap. The score is 350R: 2, Z/28: 1.
Putting a totally fresh comparison is going to be impossible considering all the Z/28s rolled off the assembly line 2 years ago.

They up right for vir. It's way to big of a event. Not like they just roll in there with a long term car.
I can't say it loses to a superior track car. That has yet to be seen. That same z28 losing to a 1le also makes me suspicious. ....as it should you.

Z28 had stank tires on for the test fo sho.

So basically they brought in a stripped down ringer Z/28, in which even Ferrari's engineers were suspicious enough of the car they actually went over and inspected it themselves? GM sketchy fo sho.
GT350R's 66% win percentage is daunting fo sho. 1LE is a great car though, that I'm sure of. People said the same thing of the C7 Stingray Z51 beating the Z06, but there it is.

Your arrogance consistently continues to fail you. I precisely remember you saying this car would stomp a mud hole in the R's ****.
