Default Racing a c6 z06--heads/cam+bolt-ons..in my 3000GT..thoughts?

Hey guys,

Yeah this is a hype thread but I deliver on the hype..when I say I'm gonna race, I race!

So as you might know I recently ran a pair of corvettes recently...c5 z06 and a 6MT c6 widebody. Video here:

Thread leading up to the race here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/street-ra...your-bets.html **Subscribe to my channel!!**

At that time I was running 93 pump gas. Now with the persuasion of a buddy..I've finally pumped e85 into my car again after a 2 year hiatus.

So im finally going to put this setup to proper use. 16g's, e85 and I'm currently sitting at ~24psi holding to redline with a MBC. I'm going to switch to AEM to control boost very shortly. So here's the deal...I beat a pair of vettes and now 2 more show up..

The yellow one is a Grand Sport with basic bolt-ons. Black one I raced already. The red one is a z06 with intake/headers/exhaust and a heads/cam package. He says it dyno'ed 540whp. They weigh in at sub 3000lbs..3200 on the heavy end.

This is gonna happen. Its going down this weekend. What should I expect?? Will I beat him or will he beat me? Were gonna go from a 40ish roll..I'll be in 2nd gear..he may be in 1st or 2nd. How bad will either of us win or will it be a close one?? Lets hear your thoughts!! Win or lose I don't care, its all for fun!

Video will be posted this weekend!!

Teaser clip...

A vette like that will likely trap in the high 12x, low 13x. Guess it depends on how much power your car makes and what it should trap.

Are those the vettes that were doing rolling starts from 3000 rpm lol.

If the C6Z knows how to drive he's going to gap you. If drives like the other guys you have a good shot.

its going to be from a 40ish roll...i can't hear my own horn while lining up so he'll likely be doing the honking.

I'm not sure what gear that puts him in..

A heads cam Z should do more than 540ish...we have bolt on ones doing it. I think you have a good chance of hanging with it. I really miss smashing Z06s on rolls with my Supra. I even called Hio after one C6Z kill

1st- c6z cars do not weight in under 3000 lbs... they are 3300lbs cars +/- a few pounds
2nd- h/c c6z cars should be trapping in the high side of 130s and into the 140s.
And 3rd- if the driver knows what he is doing, he should run away from you.

Some of the early base models were around 3100, but they got heavier as the years and options got added on. Like mentioned, if he isn't an idiot, you will get beat.

C6Z is different than other Vettes you've raced. Their gearing is much more favorable for roll racing. 40 is a dead spot for 2nd gear, could start first but would have to hook and be ready to shift. Honestly I expect your car to get walked if C6Z driver is even semi-decent. Mine has beat plenty of cars it shouldn't have. LS7 torque curve and gearing makes them hard to beat.

I suspect you would need to be making at least low 600s to hang with him, if driven well. And yes, a 540 WHP heads / cam C6Z (must be a baby cam, and mild heads) should trap in the mid 130s. Of course, that could be a stingy Mustang dyno and he may be trapping high 130s.

Fixed....I would expect 600 from a Dynojet.
