Good call i could always give that a try to keep the car where i want it.. I'll play around with that a little and see if it does any better.

Took it for a ride yesterday and played around dropping it into 2nd around 50-55.. definitely way more responsive from a roll.. id say it's definitely a game changer from a higher speed roll in an auto.. I appreciate the info

Yea id like to try the 50-55 roll again and see if it makes any difference.. seems like quite a difference based on how much more responsive it is versus it easing into it at that speed.

When downshifting, manually select your gear and kinda rev match it. Especially on a 4-2 or 4-3 downshift.
(As opposed to letting the computer downshift for you)

Reason being when you go wot in 3rd or 4th your rpms jump way up then your 3-4 clutch pack releases while they are being kind sling shoted and due to the 3-4 clutch pack not being applied any longer the clutches are now spinning at different speeds at high rpms causing excessive wear.

My 3rd tops out around 100 mph and your 2nd tops out about the same. Kind of crazy when you think about it lol

Get with your tuner if roll racing is something you do quite a bit of and set up the Tow/Haul, performance mode for the tranny. Works like a champ for always being in the optimal gear for any speed your at. https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...ar-button.html

Bringing this back up. Well today RollinSScamaro and I weighed our cars. Mine is 3640 lbs with full tank of gas, full nitrous, probably 30-40 lbs of tools and whatnot. His was 3520 lbs with his drag wheels and full tank of gas. No nitrous obviously and no tools and whatnot either. We did a 50-120 run (with him manually shifting down to 2nd this time) and it was pretty dead even again. So today there was about a total of 200 lb difference when you include the drivers. Last time we ran he was running his big 18's, so it was interesting to see if there was a difference

125mph with 4.10s is max for your 4th gear? What RPM does that put you at in 4th? Just wondering if you cant spin it higher due to your cam.
I have 4.10s also but take my 4th gear to 6900 which puts me well into the 130mph range.

At 125 in 4th is about 6700 when I shift. I could go a tad higher but my rev limiter is at 7000

Thanks. Yes it really is a drivers race between us. If my shifting is not spot on he will gain ground each time. Im not so happy finding out that my car is basically a big fat pig, but i guess that means im making some pretty good power at least lol

Is your car a fully optioned t-top car?

Yes I think its time to cut some weight out of this pig lol. I'm not sure if mine is fully optioned or not. How do you tell? It has t-tops, leather, ABS, traction control, etc. My 17x11 ZR1's with tire are 60 lbs, but my fronts are stock 17x9 which I believe are close to 50 lbs with tire. Then there's the iron block, which is about 100 lbs more. My nitrous kit with full bottle is an extra 30 lbs. Then lastly, I have probably around an extra 20 lbs of tools, cleaning supplies, etc....We both had a full tank of gas as well. So basically I weighed my car in its heaviest case scenario lol
