HCI2000SS vs RollinSScamaro
On our way to a big fbody meet we finally got to meet up and do a few roll runs. RollinSScamaro is a member on here and just did a nice HCI build, so I'll let him chime in on the details. So we went from a 40 mph with him in 1st (4l60 with 3.23's) and me in 2nd (T56 with 4.10's). This speed sucked for me in 2nd, but his setup won't kick down over 45, so we settled on 40 mph. It worked out great actually because he would spin (street tires) which allowed a similar take off with me being at a lower rpm in 2nd. Anyways, long story short it was practically a dead even race up till around 125 where my 4th gear runs out. So his HCI LS1 vs my HCI LQ9. My mods are in my signature and im sure he will join in here soon and give the exact details on his setup. We even have the same tuner so we can rule that part out lol

Yea it was pretty damn even at lower speeds and we did a few runs at 50-60 and of course I stayed a little behind being an auto.. hard to compare auto vs 6 speed when power levels are the same.. all depends on the roll mph at that point.. real fun though! All mods are in my signature along with my numbers on a mustang dyno.. the best part is now I know I should be trapping around 119 range which is cool lol

if you both have the same heads and close to the same other mods your power is pretty close to the same. One makes more torque, but the same power. The race ran exactly as it should.

Mine are PRC 5.3 heads and his are AI LS6 heads. Mine have a 61cc chamber. I'm not sure about his. Don't know the exact flow rates but I'm sure his flow a bit better

I was real happy to hang next to a 6 speed 370ci.. I know that iron block is around an extra 100 lbs so it balances things out a little. All I know is nitrous will definitely be in my future.. that was a way bigger difference than I even expected and you were running out lol.. maybe next year, if my poor 10 bolt survives this year

Yep my bottle pressure was even low too lol. But like you I fear the 10 bolt will give way any day lol.
Tberg725, where are you located? Can't remember if I asked or not
