Default c6 vette DECIMATES twin turbo 3000GT..!!

We all thought that c6 was 'stock'...until that same night we ran a bone stock c6 against this one...(video will be posted soon!) and the black one put a bus length on its rival. The vr4 is a 380hp car..would have been a good race against a stockish ls2 c6.

Enjoy!

Pretty sure that Vette is stock. The fact it is a C6Z06 provides a simple explanation why it walked the import so bad. Now, if that car walked your VR4 then it would be a whole different story. However, the whp the Z06 is putting down exceeds the VR4, not to mention the Vette is lighter. VR4 still did well considering.

The badging on the side looked as if it was a Z06. However, I can't completely make out what the badging says. If it is a LS2 then it shouldn't just run away from the VR4 like that without some sort of modifications.

yeah thats the surprising part. I thought it would be a much closer race but that same vette ran another ls2 vette the same night and smoked it by 4 cars. Both 6 speed with competent drivers in both cars. Its got a 100k miles, stock airbox/filter/headers and exhaust(minus rear muffler). doesn't sound cammed either.

LS2s become drastically different with a good intake on it and a cam swap. The cam is the 01 Z06 grind. The LS2 intake is about on par with an LS1. Maybe he has a quiet cam I don't know. But I do know with exhaust, good tune and a Fast intake of any kind it becomes very different.

Out of curiosity, what is the weight of 3000GT VR4? I would imagine that Vette is much lighter also probably coming in around ~3300 lbs.

yeah this particular 3000GT is near stock weight. Maybe 75lbs lighter than stock. Stock weight is near 3780lbs. Cat deletes, different wheels and misc crap deletes. Plus its running 16psi...those turbos come to life at 22. They are capable of making well over 500.

The car is just going thru the beginning stages of its build however. Its a good clean unmolested car, a good foundation to build upon. The owner will upgrade fuel and once that's done, it should bring the car to life.

It probably has some canned tunes on it that are probably safe to run on a "stock" car.

LS2 car with ZR1 front fenders. Without looking at it and just hearing it I could tell it wasn't a Z.

Get off my back, bro! jk. I am curious to know what all was done to the Vette. It definitely had the gap band playing on the 3000GT.

Probably would have been worst for that vr-4 if that was a real Z06,i thought it was a GS at first glance.
