Run in with a new C7 GS....some notes...
so, I'm driving my coyote on the way to the hospital. I have another kidney stone. The color of the GS was the most incredible bright metallic red ive ever seen on a car. The elderly gentleman driving the car was weaving in traffic and goosing the car between stops. So, I said to myself, "let's see what a GS has". I could tell he heard my car...I was behind him when there was a long clearing in the road....he does exactly what he did all the other times, he nails it. the GS is a manual trans...
As you all know, my car NEVER shifts at 7800, but it did this time. it was a 2nd to 3rd gear run.
I started about 2 cars behind him, and pulled up on his bumper. I am glad he didn't drop the throttle suddenly because I would have hit him.
he has unknown mods if any. fellas I simply cant describe how fast the GS is. he shifted perfectly btw. so did I. i'm running on 93 octane, so my power is 448/406.
I have a performance advantage in the numbers. I weigh less, and I have more power if he's stock. I simply crept up on him in those two gears.
The LT1 defies physics as I know it. if we had continued to run to 170 mph I would have put a bunch of cars on him, but that's a loss for me really. if that car mods a tiny bit I lose. that was my first run vs a LT1. I can see why the LT1 gets out on cars and cant be reeled in.

Nice job. You say you weigh less....how much does your ride weigh? On a side note I recently had a small run with C7 vert the other day. Long story short the race was from like 80 to 125 and he took the hit, but I was slowly reeling him in, and by 125 I had maybe a half car on him. I assume it was stock

I haven't weighed the car since it was new, it weighed 3480 if I remember back then. I estimate 3380-3400.

GS is a 12s car in stock form.
This is a reasonable result.

A stock C7 GS M7 car will dyno right around 400-405 rwhp.... They normally run low 12s@116-117 with a decent driver. A hot shoe on tires may squeak into the 11s. An A8 car will run 11.80s@116-117 or so in decent air.
I think the bone stock A8 car record is 11.60@120 in Atco air....
Sounds like your extra 50 rwhp easily had him covered even given the 300lb weight difference....

I have the turbo ready to race. I will be parking the coyote again. im not going to just let it sit too long this time. maybe that caused the alternator to fail.
yeah, and when it might rain I will drive the coyote. I have the hoosiers on the turbo.
that **** cost me 1279.00.

im pretty modded up. I didn't have a problem pulling up on him, and could have passed him if there was space.
a cold air, catback, tune, e85, and i'm 100 percent sure I need more mods. that's not good.
it pulled like a freight train to be stock.
for comparisons, a 5th gen SS gets *** raped by my coyote. at least ALL of them ive run have. there is always the odd HCI 5th gen that might get me.

So in the car you hate driving, you reeled in a car that you "can't describe how fast it is".
The LTs have a **** reputation versus the LS when it comes to mods. LTs are good for people who like to keep things bone stock.
