Default 2011 Coyote 5.0 vs Bolt on LS1

2011 Coyote 5.0 full bolt on, e85 vs my 2001 WS6 Full bolt on H/C pump gas. What are you guys' confrontations with Coyote's? My Last race before my piston melted i was setup with a cocky mustang owner, he was begging and begging to run me and one day i just decided to say **** it and said put your money where your mouth is. We met up and went ahead and decided to do a 30 roll and a 40 roll, we started off on the 30 roll and on the 3rd honk we went at it and right away the ws6 starts pulling hard from him but i notice once i get into 3rd i notice the power isn't there how it was and he slowly creeps and starts pulling and he's ahead of me by like half a car. In my mind i'm like "****" so we decided to do the second run and we go at it and right away no power it feels week and once i shift into 2nd the clutch is slipping and no power then i try 3rd and same thing and he's like 2 cars ahead of me and sure as hell after i got home and pulled the heads off piston 7 was slightly melted that's why i was shooting out blue smoke and idling funky. I've always had good runs with coyote 5.0's and they just amaze me how fast they are becoming but am i the only one that gets mad when something doesn't go as planned because i know damn well if the ws6 wouldn't have gave out on me i would've dragged him and not have lost. Just a little story/rant lol

My first thought as well. Sounds like exactly what happened to me racing a Cobra when my solenoid stuck open and emptied an entire bottle of nitrous into my motor at idle.

This guy sounds fishy.

necrocannibal - why wouldn't you shut it down before emptying an entire bottle? Hard to notice the engine running a bit different at idle while nitrous is being poured into it?

Well I was running a 200 shot so it was a pretty good amount. I may have exaggerated with the whole bottle but I let out after we raced and my idle was staying up around 3000 rpms. I thought that was odd so I tapped the throttle a couple of times to see if it would drop down which it didn't. That is about the time the "Oh ****!" thought went through my head and I turned the bottle off really quickly but it was too late. Everything happened within what felt like about 5 seconds, lol.

I must be lucky with nitrous lol. Had it for 5 years on my Camaro and probably about the same on my Mustang, and never had any issues

I would consider you lucky in that regard. That was one of the reasons I went turbo on my current build, that and got tired of filling bottles.

I have not had a na Coyote come close to me rolls or from a dig. And I am not a good running head cam car due to small cam and not so great heads. Coyote with same mods has power advantage. You have weight advantage. Fix your motor and then do it again.

Don't bother, if he loses, he will just refer to his original excuse of "my setup isn't that good."

Do you have reading comprehension issues or just like being a poor attempt at a troll?
