Default 2016 5.3 Sierra vs 2017 2.7 EB F150

Already knew the outcome of this race but I was surprised from the roll race at how well mine hung with my buddies Ecoboost, lol.

Both trucks are 4WD. Both are stock. Mine's a 5.3 instead of the 6.2, his is a 2.7. His truck is pretty ******* quick for what it is; thing feels good for a big *** truck lol and has surprised a few diesels in the area.

Roll:

Dig: I got fucked up on this

Ran him again from a roll where I manually put it in 2nd then shifted to drive and I put the gap on him. Drivermod in an auto ftw.

Felt weird racing this compared to what I used to race on the streets LOL, even though they're probably still faster than Jake.

A buddy of mine has a 2.7EB and they are surprising for what they are.

Seems like the new 5.3 has a lot more pep to it. The 2012 LTZ Crew cab 5.3 I test drove was depressingly slow compared to the 2012 5.0 lariat I test drove the same day.

Did you have e85 in the tank?

It really wakes mine up.

If not try him again with nothing but e85 in the tank. You will walk him from a roll.
Mine has headers, cai and tune. It ran pretty good until I lifted it up and put 35s on it with 22 inch wheels. With e85 and mods I bet it may have ran easy 14s with stock wheels tires. now it feels about as fast as stock lol

I thought I read something about how GM’s stock tunes don’t really adjust performance much at all for e85 in the tank.

In my manual it says power goes up 30 to 385 and tq is up over 400 on E85.

I’m not sure if the tuner adjusted my E85 tables but I can feel a pretty decent difference

It was straight 91 in it lol. Haven’t tried E85 as the only station near me is about 45 miles away. Maybe this weekend, as I’ll be in said town with stations, I’ll splash some in and see if he wants to run em from a roll. I’d love to beat him lol

Good to know. Glad they made changes to the ecus.

E85 is so plentiful around here.

Car and driver tested a 5.3 flex fuel truck on pump vs e85. The results were e85 pick up .3.

Furd did good with their ecoboosts imo.

2.7 EBs are no punk. I was surprised. I raced my buddy's stock Lariot 4x4 crew cab 2.7 EB with my 2011 FX4 3.5 EB on an LMS 87 octane tune and he ran right besides me the whole time. My truck on the LMS 93 tune runs 14.30s...(FX4 crew cab, leveled on 33" ATs). Mine dynoed 360 rwhp on the 93 tune on wide 33"s.

They're quick for sure. Truck pulled my buddies deleted/tuned LMM also which really surprised me.

My 3.5 killed all the trucks.
