Default What should I expect.

Have a budy who has a 2011 5.0 m6 boss intake and catback. I got a 2001 ws6 a4 with 3.73 cai, 1 an 3/4 longtubes catless ypipe and a catback with cutout by muffler and a frost tune. Do I have a chance?

Does the 5.0 have a tune also?
I think you will hang with him down low, but I think the 5.0 will start to pull up top but not by much. Just my opinion though.
What mph are you planning on running to?

Reality, should be a good race. Slight edge to you from the dig.

LS1Tech fantasy land, you'll castrate him at 1/2 throttle, while short shifting, with a bad tune. Minimum 5 cars, 0-120.

IMO.

the other day at the local track saw a late model 5.0 auto driven by a 60-70 year old women run 11.9@120mph. I don't believe a 2001 ws6 a4 with 3.73 and LBO and canned tune will beat a 5.0 with some mods, but you may get him out of the hole, but after that the 5.0 will make up the distance and go onto gap city.

I have crapy sumitumo all seasons and I already figure I'm not gonna win. I never really have faced anyone let alone never have been to a strip. I think he has a tune also. Just was gonna see the consensus of I could hang with him a bit anyway. I do feel I have some good driving skills tho.

Assuming he can drive, I think the longer the race goes on for, the more he will start to pull on you. If you do get a good jump though, you will hold him off longer. End the race around 120mph and get a good jump on him.
Good luck, be safe and don't forget to GoPro it.

Easy answer is yes. A stall upgrade is big on these cars and helpful at any speed. All seasons wont cut it tho.

I think it will be close. In a stock A4 the shift extensions just suck ***** especially on the 1-2 due to the drastic gear change. The 3.73's will definitely help.

2-3 is the dead spot on the A4 not the 1-2.

A 3.06 1st drop to 1.62 2nd gear is a lot worse than 1.62 2nd to the 1 : 1 3rd

yea you are right...but it always felt like the 2-3 was worse with the stock converter for some reason.

You'll likely need to refine your mods to beat him.

Just dump about 4 bottles of NOS octane booster in your car, along with replacing all your engine oil with Lucas oil Stabilizer. Thats how i used to thrash coyotes in my near stock ls1.

Drain all the oil out and fill it with oil stabilizer. Solid plan..
