Ls6...i bent 3 valves in. Very repairable if you're not skeered to work on a car like you. So it was repaired. Ls7 unknown condition. Nothing i did at all.

Agreed. Stock 60e in my 4th gen lived 4 seasons with a 3800 stall and bolt-ons, then another 4 seasons behind a heads/cam setup. Then it survived all last season on a 150 shot...and it was still living before it was pulled over the winter for a built unit which won't surprise me if it doesn't last as long as the previous low mileage stock unit with a cooler, shift kit, and proper tune.

Stock 60e blew when I had slp lid, ported 241 heads and full exhaust. Lasted two track outings then tapped out.
Now it's on its 4th rebuild. I just need it to last until I can do a 80e swap.

For all the people in here that are advocating for the 4l60e, how fast did you personally go with one and how long did it last (stock and built)?

For the record, Im not saying that they cant last. Im stating that is by far not the usual outcome. And for most applications spending the money to make a 60 last is a futile effort when there are much stronger options available. Whether all the blown up ones attribute to fluid choice, build method, tune, driving habits, alignment of the planets...etc. I cant comment on. Im not willing to try to make a 60 live just like im not willing to try and make a 10 bolt live. I'll go ahead and run an 80 and an 8.8 and call it a day.

Sea sig nature. Bone stock 4l60e wif a transmission bolt missing so basically fully built. The shop aka me lost it win he was busy yanking. Never built one would probably go 8s if I did tho.
