For the record, Im not saying that they cant last. Im stating that is by far not the usual outcome. And for most applications spending the money to make a 60 last is a futile effort when there are much stronger options available. Whether all the blown up ones attribute to fluid choice, build method, tune, driving habits, alignment of the planets...etc. I cant comment on. Im not willing to try to make a 60 live just like im not willing to try and make a 10 bolt live. I'll go ahead and run an 80 and an 8.8 and call it a day.
I agree...many people seem to have no issue blowing them up. However most that do I notice are flare shifting the 2-3 a lot and that kills them quick. Normally the flare shift is a tune issue. If folks took the time to learn the basics of tuning they would quickly realize that most tuners out there don't take the time to fix all the holes in the tune. I see a lot of "good enough" or "conservative" tunes out there that leave a lot on the table. A big reason is most bargain shop for whoever is cheaper. Cheaper isn't better and you pay for what you get. I exchanged a few posts with Greg Banish (who popped in the tuning section not to long ago just to agree with what I just mentioned). And he went on to say that is a big reason why he no longer tunes. Nobody wants to pay for the time it takes to tune properly and You can't properly tune a car in a day outside of WOT fueling/timing. Either way the 4l80 is a lot more forgiving and will handle almost anything thrown at it which is why it has been a popular swap...it can handle mistakes very well.

KrisPkreme doesn't want the depression that would inevitably follow a track visit with his RTC.

They have a nice kits out there now just like the 9" and s60 or 12bolt. Can't go wrong with any of them imo if all are built the same as in power level

Not as strong as a fabbed rear or as light and you end up at nearly the same $. I also don't like the bulky tq arm set ups on them.
Best way to get into a 9" is either used or buy a new housing from mwc because it comes with a tq arm and axles i think. Then source a 9" center. There are parts everywhere for them.

You have a Ford 9" in your Camaro Sorry that makes you mad.
The 346 LS1 is a copy of the windsor but with better heads and COP.
