whipped a vette
and just got off the highway exit, i end up next to an c5 vert. it had dealer plates and the guy was clipping along at a decent pace. We hit up a light, I lean over and say nice car. He says ya thanks, his wife or girl friend in the car says "well say it back" (to him) and i hear nothing, okay ******* in a vette, not the first time thats happened. whatever light goes green i just leave normally, he does a quick break torque (auto) then blows by me. i say **** that, leave it in gear and just mash the pedal to get up and try and get him from a roll. i pull next to him and nothing...nothing...nothing...okay i give up go up to about 5 over the speed limit and am just cruising. then wham! out of no where the jacko does a fly by! THATS IT! I catch back up to him and just sit there ready to downshift. luckily the guy does it again and i slam it into 2nd, 3rd, easy into 4th, i had a good 2 cars on him. He stayed about 4 cars behind me for another 2 miles. then we both got caught at a red light. he asks "how about we go from here to the next light" well the next light is really really far down, i respond "maybe till double the speed limit or something, i dont wanna get going tooo fast." okay, hes break torqueing the **** out of it, i rev up to about 2.5. light turns green, i pop the clutch but (stupid me) forget to add gas!!! he takes off, i bog, then come back up. hes about 1-2 cars up now, i bang off 2nd and am at his ***, 3rd gear and even, im at his nose at the end of 3rd, hit 4th and get about 1-1 1/2 cars then call it off.
Silly vette! We get to the next light, Im like nice race. He responds "well you car has a better top end"

From a dig i bog and still catch up and win.
He knows nothing about Camaro's nor his Vette's top end.

I have to say that I see many Vette kills by F-Bodys in this section (I even have one of my own) but I do not recall EVER seing a Vette kill of a F-Body

I have killed many F-bodies in my C5, I just have done it at the track. Mod for mod I'm usually .1-.3 quicker than the f-bodies in my club. A bone stock C5 can hit 170+mph. Mod for mod they will generally out top end your car. The reason you see so many F-body - Vette kills are 1) A lot of Vette owners buy them to tool around in and therefore are running an A4 with 2.73 gears and 2) there are many, many more f-body owners on this site which is bound to skew the #'s. Nice kill on the Vette, but know thy enemy. The next one you meet may not be so easy.
Oh and I always give props to a nice ride, to bad the guy was a dick. Probably the first fast/nice car he's owned.

..and you also have to watch out for the guys who've changed everyhting except the stock mufflers
