he was in 6th gear, obviously. i dont downshift for cars, unless i can tell its modded a good amount. just like the supra i wasted, i heard the turbo over my exhaust, wind noise, and ear plugs. it was modded... and i also put 25-30 cars on him. he was only messing with you.

 

Just messing ,or did not know any better.
I saw him down shift,but still the results are what they are.
I own a R1(998cc) and i do not need to down shift for almost any car on the highway(to a point). My point was only that some times the rider just can not make the performance come out of the machine,it happens.

I agree with redSS, I don't think many cars are gonna pull my R1 on the freeway, I don't know what top speed is but 60-100mph comes real quick, and THEN the bike starts pulling hard!

I agree!!! But that doesn't mean that the story is true, but then again who knows.... But,I also ride a bike and I have ridden with some HORRIBLE riders that thought they were good. I also have a Firehawk and I did race a R6 and didnt lose by much (the rider was bad). Its the rider or in alot of cases with cars, its the driver, not the car.

Holly ****! i did not think so many people would get so fuckn butt hurt over this post i havnt replyed to any of you because im in Iraq! thus why i didnt film the race people i raced the guy three times two from a dig and once on the highway we raced a 1/4 mile the first race i he was at my door then the second race we just kept going then we hit 130 and then i just kept pulling after that, and on the highway we started from 65 he took off then i did he was pulling but same results about 125-130 i started pulling again hey i dont know how i beat him or why all i know is i beat him end of story u belireve me or you dont i have many people who whitnessed the race ive beetn many cars that people dont think i should have beatn i dont know how this happens i bought my car used maybe it has more then what i think i took it to the track ran it three times bald shitty tires spun em almost all the way to second and i got a 13.1 so with good tires im in the twelves i have many friends withWS6 trans ams and SS i beat them all the time i dont know how or why but my car just does so believe me or not either way i still beat the guy

Whatever happened to the "anything can happen on the street" thing? I can't say if it did or didn't happen, but I have been around some pretty pathetic operators in my time. I'll tell ya the worst one to date. I have a cousin that had a 02 400ex, bone stock. I had a modified one, 440 kit, cam, exhaust, head work, and so forth. Even when we swapped quads I would smoke his *** unless we raced say 1/2 a mile where he would finally catch up. Think that's bad? I wanted to see just how bad he "sucked" at riding. So I hopped on his dads 86 Honda fourtrax 250, and he was on his 400ex. I told him to say go, I was in fourth gear before he passed me Is the 250 a beast off the line? Hell no, he just sucked at riding period. Give the dude a break, it's not like he beat him in a cavalier or something.

I'm not calling bs and heres why. I rode 2002 R1 for a while. Planning on getting a busa this summer. But the R1 was modded and I have been 10.20s consistant. I have been riding for 6 years now. When you start out on a shitbox Katana this is normally your first bike. It being your first bike generally speaking you have no idea what the hell your doing what gear you should be in and I dont care who you are your not pro stock launching it from a dig. Most people on Katanas are young kids who are smart and want to live so they work their way up the power chain. Katana makes somewhere like 75 hp. The motor is so outdated its sad. You get a camaro with traction that can run 13.40 13.30s generally with most drivers stock vs a Katana that is a 12.70 second bike with pros riding it and I can see the Katana rider launching it freaking out getting off the trottle and thats it. Then the second race he says I can get the feel of it blah blah blah blah and they start over same conclusion. Its not a top end bike. It has hardly any midrange. Most car guys here the word Bike and they automatically pull out the bs flag. Its almost ignorante because bikes under 1000ccs are junk in top end and most people who ride a bike under 1000ccs are beginners.

 

look, i dont think anyone would doubt he could take a kanatuna. those things suck. but, he WILL NOT TOUCH a gsxr 750... and this is coming from a guy who hates suzuki's.

yep... what you said. 600 cc kats are slow as hell. if the rider gets anything less than a perfect launch, i totally believe that any mid-low 13 sec car can take one- especially ones that have a good bit of top-end steam like an ls1.

I bet this story isn't BS. Stock, I raped katanas on the highway. I've only seen 1 run better than a 12.5 at my 2 local tracks. And the 2000's are even slower than the 1990's ones because they are detuned to pass smog.

If this guy wasn't 140 lbs and didn't launch with his front wheel 3-4" off the ground, its a 13 second bike.

These bikes routinely dyno in the 70 hp range

That's 40 hp less than I saw a new 600 cc CBR dyno on the same day.

They also weigh around 500 lbs, more than most other 600 cc bikes, and as much as some other bigger bikes.

So for all you fools calling , please do yourself a favor and SHUT THE **** UP.

If you need more proof, go get on the net and look up katana 1/4 mile times. Even the pro riders don't break 11's. With an average rider on a new body style katana, any modded f-body has it in the bag. From a stop or a roll, katanas are dogs.

dude, im sorry but a katana 600 will get smoked by an ls1. SMOKED. if a 96 cobra with exhaust can pull 4 cars on one on the highway, im pretty sure a MILD(exhaust/lid/filter) car could rape one.
