Default GS-X saying he runs 11.4's(long)

Last Friday a guy I go to school with got a GS-X that suppose to have 25,000 into it and is boosting 24 psi and that's with forged internals. Well before he even got the car he was talking mad **** about how he could kick my ***. I told him if it runs 11.4's then yea i'm going to get my *** kick but he wouldn't stop talking ****. Well, Saturday he showed up at the local hang out place. He wouldn't pop his hood or tell anyone what's done to it but he runs 11.4's. a friend of mine with a 5.9L jeep was calling BS on him the hole time and told him i'll race in his jeep(best time is 8.8 in the 1/8). The guy didn't say anything to me the hole time. But when he finely said he'd race my friend I got in my car to go watch. The guy with the GS-X was behind me when I turned onto the road we run on. He decides he wants to pass me, so he got about half a car jump on me before I got on it. From a 15-120 roll he only pulled one more car on me. I think one of the reasons this happened was he took a full second to charge gears. He didn't say anything to me afterwards about it. When he raced my friend in the Jeep I think he dropped it at like 3 grand and didn't get a very good launch because the jeep pulled him by a car with his all wheel drive and like 400 torque. At the end the GS pulled about a car ahead of him. I'm wondering what his car can do with someone that doesn't drive like my mom. I don't know what to think about his car. I Don't know **** about dsm's and i thought he would pull us a lot harder if he was really boosting 24 psi even with the all-wheel drive part? Basicly this guy is a schmuck, and i cann't wait to get my LTs, cam, heads, and 100 shot on and walk his ***.

25,000 dollars on a DSM. Sort of defeats the purpose of it being cheap.................

An 8.8 in the 1/8th is good for a mid to high 13 in the quarter unless you've got some crazy pull up top or you're spraying after the 1/8th. If he put a car on you're looking at a low 13. If he wasnt the best driver when he put that car on you're probably looking at a mid 12 with a good driver. Not the fastest dsm ever Gray likes to be optimistic about times cause he lives in h-town. Considering DSMs boost like 11psi stock he very well could be boosting 24psi on a big 20g turbo or big 16g. The stock one won't hold that much boost for long though. Simply because it's internals would overheat and melt together. I'm not even sure one of those two would hold that boost well for long. Either way you look at it I'm betting in most situations, with a decent driver, it's a mid 12 second car.

Even if you did hit 11s cheap in the end it would cost you 25k just to replace all the crap you'd break.

Man Unit, I saw that and started cracking up. Thank god I am the only one at work right now, or I would have been brutally embaressed.

My car is stock and I raced my friend twice the other night. My clutch is gone and so is his so we did two roll on races, he is pushing 18 psi and has a whole lot of other things done, versus my stock SS we pulled about the same. He isn't the best driver, but not the worst. DSM's are worth it stock for some easy upgrades for decent times, but nothing special, mod yours up and throw his **** back at him.

you throw a full exhaust, intake system on a DSM and it can easily keep up with our cars totally stock.
