Car for car you will be owned up side down and up the other. If its got tiptronic tranny, shifting is not a problem, But the manual gear box is silky smooth.

get you a cam and some heads and that will help dramatically and plus i know someone running 7.6 1/8 mile time with a tcisf3000 and a 125 shot so own up and show him what its about to drive a chevy

I'd say get a cam like a magic stick 3 or g5x3 and call it a day. Or you could just get a 100 shot and that should take care of that pesky 911 turbo.

Those 996 Turbos will run bottom 12's/high 11's in the 1/4 mile. Since he can't drive, race him from a dig. If he can drive it, you're gonna get so, so, so, so badly raped either way that it wouldn't even be worth the gas to lose this bad. Even if your buddy can't shift that well, but decently, the race is already lost. Modern Porsches, even the high end models, are RIDICULOUSLY easy to drive.

ROTFL ... I "raced" one of those things when I was stock. I have a quick suggestion for you ... back out quickly!

It was like a 15 mph roll .... I hit it, he did a few seconds later, and just blew by me like I was parked. It's the reason why I started modding my car.

he is racing his friend! its not for money so what does it matter, he just wanted to know how he would do thats all! i say go for it, all that can happen is that your friend with a six digit price figure car beat you! nothing to be ashamed about!

kinda off topic but, I have a 91 bmw w/a V12 and auto, I raced a non-turbo porsche, about a 98 or 99 and kept up with it the whole way. I couldn't pass it, but he didn't gain even 1 car length on me. it was a 911 carrera.

I raced a boxster 's' with my camaro and smoked it!

..but alas, I do think you will lose to a turbo 911, but that info has never stopped me before!

I raced an 02 or 03 at the track with my 100 shot, he couldn't drive for sh*t
and ran a 12.76 to my 12.73, we both had 2.2 60' so neither one of us launched well, but
race him anyway and find out, there's nothing like seeing a truly fast car fly by you,

pat
