i have 03 cobra with a pully, cold air, cat back, and tune my bud has 2001 m6 SS with flowtech long tubes, off road y pipe, borla, FIPK, nittos, ported TB, every time we race we stay dead even. i haven't gone to track he says he will never go to track so im baseing this on my buds camed and stalled ws6 thats run high 11s on motor when we race the ws6 we always win by at leats a car i dont care what my car runs i think my cars in the high 11s but can my buds SS be in the 11s to with a stock gear and internals. no offense to my friend in the ws6 any one that can make a 4000lbs convertable ws6 run high 11s with minor bolt ons has my respect.

I would say no, but then again I guess anything is possible. There is a very good chance, that if your friend is not the original owner, that a sleeper cam could be in there. Ya never know.

I wouldn't discount it.. If he had some decent weight reduction, and all the boltons.. and knew how to drive well enough to cut some 1.7-1.8 60' on those nittos.. Its possible. However, its unlikely. Chances are your probably not in the high 11's. Just because another Cobra runs a number, doesn't mean yours does.

Honestly it sounds like he is spraying you...if you can't hear a cam, then that damn near has to be it. No SS with that amount of bolt-ons will hang with a pullied 03+ Cobra without some extra help...

Something is surely missn' here. I vote nitrous. Ask to check the spare tire area, thats where i have mine. Wouldnt think a 15 lb bottle would fit in there, but it does so rather nicely.

Well, something doesn't add up here. Even if he has a sleeper cam, they usually don't put down enough power to overcome what you *should* be putting down, even with nice heads. Maybe your car isn't running right or something...I'm kinda at a loss here.

Maybe it was built with an LS6 or an LS6 blocked Strong running LS1, that and weight reduction on good tires could get you an 11 easily.

Jerflash has been 12.38@111mph in his WS6 with just lid/catback and nittos and a shiftlight. I'm sure 11s wouldn't be out of the question with weight reduction, LTs and other bolt-ons.

That is FAR from the norm, and the LS6 block does not give you any performance gains. LS6 heads, yes, LS6 block, no. Even an actual LS6 (heads, cam, and block) would not give an SS enough power to overtake a pullied Cobra. The car would absolutely have to be gutted, and even then, my money would be on the Cobra.

i just dont get i have taken out modded zo6s all kinds ls1s and stangs but every time me and my bud race we are dead even. hopefully after i put my x pipe on i will be able to pull on him

Outrunning ONE means nothing. Outrunning everyone you come across is another story. Some stock '03 Cobras trap 113mph which is pretty much right on with your bolt on car according to your sig.

What pulley do you have? Also, do you have idlers to eliminate belt slip?

just because you know him and was there when he bought it and when he installed everything doesnt mean he didnt install it without you.

Everytime I mod my car or a friend does we usually call one or more of em over, so we can hang out (dont get to much these days) get some extra hands/brain power if we need it, and just to bs and have a good time doing it.....That doesnt mean in the spring when I bottle up my ls1 within the first week I buy it that they will be there helping me do it

And if hes to dumb to do it himself maybe he payed for a install. My buddies will be thinking the same thing when they get in their cars (modded stingray, talon, and some crappy GT's) by a car with only a lid, cutout, and some nittos

Well put unit, BUT he said NO ss ( or z28 in my case) could out run one with just bolt-ons. I was just letting him know it can happen. Oh, i cant help it there aren't any more cobras around here to play with.
