How many challenges do you get a month?
I got my '02 Firehawk two months ago. For over a month and a half I never heard a peep out of another driver. I passed plenty of fast cars throughout this time period too. Now last week I got into a tangle with a GTO on the way home from work.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/street-racing-kill-stories/237937-gto-vs-t-firehawk.html
The next day I mixed it up with a GT on the way into work. The same day on the way home a Mustang 5.0 came at me with his supercharger swishing in my ear. Both times there were too many cars on the interstate for an outcome. And we have a lot of unmarked cops here. Some in Infinities even! The next day at lunch a Trans-Am pulls up next to me and shakes every bodies windows revving up with a straight-through exhaust. We were in a downtown neighborhood full of cars, stop signs, and red lights...No freakin' way!
Last night tops it all off though. A kid on a custom built chopper pulls up and wants a piece of my Hawk. Again the streets weren’t good and I had just pounded back a few Fosters with my dinner at Outback Steak House. I couldn't let that one go though. We did a few launches. He popped off the line like lightning. It was at night but it looked like he had a 107 cubic inch S&S racing engine probably putting out at least 125HP at the rear wheel of that 600+-lbs bike. I did good from a rolling start which surprised me. Probably the way he was shifting though. The kid couldn't have been more than 18. That's one rich/stupid dad he's got. Imagine the high school tail he's gettin' with that ($20,000 at least) custom chopper!
I'm not complaining about the challenges at all. It is weird that for over 6 weeks there were none though. Now there back to back and then it'll probably go back to none again for a while.-weird…How about you? How many do you get in a month, accept, decline, win, or loose?

I hardly get any...if anyone does bite, it is a fellow F-bod, and they usually end up falling back after they hear my exhaust (it gets way louder than you'd think when you get on it). The area I live in is notorious for rice, and that doesn't help either. Oh well...

Man I'm shocked guys. Where do you guys live? The bad thing about Jacksonville is that there are so many undercover traffic cops here. Day before yesterday my Escort 8500 kept warning me about approaching instant-on radar it was detecting. I kept looking for the speed trap and didn't see one. Finally an un-marked red Crown Vic with its lights mounted on the dash drove by me. He was creeping in the back and popping cars in front of him whenever he thought they were speeding.
If you unknowingly race by one of those guys on the interstate, you're going to jail...

Well that's strange MeentSS02. Most rice boys don't know what American muscle cars are unless it's a Vette. The ones I've seen think that porcupine pipe on the back of their Civic is the equivalent of a jet's turbine.
With the exception of the turbo equipped RX7, Supra, 300ZX, and 3000GTs out there, almost all rice burners are slow as hell...

I just wanted to comment on this whole ordeal. I personally can't afford to race right now. I got totally hosed by some young punk that I was accelerating with (not racing) I had to get an Attorney and still ended up getting screwed. I was commited of a Criminal offense for it, Wreckless Driving as opposed to Racing on Highway. I don't feel like getting into the whole story, but the sum of it was my Wife and I were late to dinner. Some loud-exhausted (no turbo's or superchargers) Honda was racing in and out of traffic. I somehow caught up to him (I don't weave in traffic) and we got stopped at a light. He was in front of me, and there was a car in front of him. Once the car got over, he floored it. I left my car in 3rd gear and stayed on his bumper (I could have dropped to 2nd and passed him). RIGHT as I let off of the gas, I saw the Motorocycle cop... The cop said we were lined up at the light in court (we weren't) and the kid said that he had just stuck a new engine in his ride and was testing it out. I said I was late to dinner. The State Attorney's knew they had us, so I had to agree with the freaking Wreckless Driving and out $1,100~ dollars.
Now that it's on my record, I'm even more scared. Less chance of winning something. If I was really racing the guy (I suppose I was just toying with him, but it wasn't racing) it wouldn't be so bad, because I WOULD have been racing.. and they say Racing is as bad (or worse) then a DUI. I think that's TOTAL BS. Stupid people make stupid laws BECAUSE of stupid people. Anyways, I'll race when I KNOW it's just me... I try to do some SCCA stuff and get it out of my system there. I have two other friends with the same car as me, so if we're riding around in our cars, it's hard to NOT race around...
PS: I know I am probably not wanted here, but I have a 2003 Mustang GT. It's Engine Stock but I've done some external mods. I just lowered the car with Eibach springs (1.5") and put some Cobra 18x9's with 275/35RZR18 Toyo T1S tires on it... FlowMaster Super 40 Series (I love them) and stuff... So you guys will rule me with your LS1. I want to swap my cam out, but the Wife needs a new vehicle and there are some other expenses coming...
I read your forums because of Head Mahone. He's a FireHawk Freak! His car is COOL. So I'm in Jacksonville, FL as well... I had a Corvette try me last night... I wanted to race him! But I can't afford those tickets / jail!

Yep, these days, it just isn't worth the possible punishment. If someone really wants to go, I'll only take them to a few undisclosed places that I know are safe, but if they won't agree to it, then screw them. I enjoy driving my car, and want to continue to do so for quite some time...call me crazy.
And Head, I hear ya on that one. Most don't know anything about my car, and to make things even worse, my tag reads "ITS A 6." I'm wondering if any of them believe it...I had two ask, and I just gave them a blank stare like I was deaf, and spiritedly drove away from the traffic light.

I always get tried at the wrong times:
Example 1:
Driving on the highway from my parents house back to school in Gainesville with a car full of furniture (ie. a lamp, a foldable table, two gym bags full of laundry, and groceries). I've got 17x11's on eibach springs with crappy stock shocks...and this was before I got my fenders tucked and rolled. I'm driving Ms. Daisy on 1-75 praying I don't slice a tire w/ all the extra weight in the car and along comes some goof in a modded foxbody calling me out. Had to decline in fear of something catastropic happening.
Example 2:
Driving home from Marietta, GA to Gainesville, FL on the DAY I BOUGHT my Formy some LT1 T/A wants to play around on the highway in triple digit speeds. C'mon, newbie LS1 driver just getting used to his car on the first day he's driven it? Had to pass.

You guys have some boring *** neighborhoods or something. When I first had my car I always had ricers try to race me. Now, its the Cobras, Vettes, GTO's, etc that want to race me.
If you heard my car you would swear that its a frickin semi coming down the street!

I can't remember the last time I got a challenge up in South Central PA. I won't go anyway cause the only time I get to drive it is when I'm home for vacation. When I do drive it I'm on vacation and not in a hurry to get anywhere. So I just cruz around enjoying the car.
Besides, I've worked to hard for what I've got and I'm not letting it go for a moment of stupidness!

Hmmm... ? Yes.
I hardly get any street races at all, I end up goin to the track. My shadow's not too bad to run though . I prefer it to some of the folks around here. Sometimes, I think people just want to be able to say "Dude I raced a Vette!" or whatever kinda car it is that they recognize as the supposed to be fast. I don't believe most regular folks know how fast or slow most sports cars are, but their intent on believing their brand new V6 Altima is fast as hell so they can mess with a sports car
Damn V6 Altima riding my ***!
Ok, I'm gettin down now...

How many challenges do I get a month?
Just regular driving, hardly any.
When I go drive on the strip on a Saturday night, still hardly any. And then they want me to race their Geo Metro with a three cylinder and a fart cannon in the middle of traffic with a cop three cars in front of me.
Every so often I find someone who's not afraid of the emblems ( I swear when some people scoot up and can see the Z-28 on the side, they back off ), we usually go out to a more secluded area and have it out there. Cops around here are cool with domestics racing, but they hate ricers as much as we do. Hell, one time in my old '70 Stingray, me and a stock '01 Cobra were goin' at it, flew past a cop at 80. He ignored us and went after the two ricers a block behind us.
We have an overabundance of stupid people and ricers here. Kinda makes you wonder if there's some kind of connection...
Anyway to answer your question, about 10-12 times a month from cars that'd I'll actually race.
