The tranny in a Viper is a T-56 just like in our F-bodies (with beefier input shaft and blocker rings ofcourse). A little by this whole arguement.

Don't worry about it man, he's just a 15 year old kid that doesn't know a whole lot about cars yet, but he's trying to come off as an experienced vet. You are right about the tranny.

And how would YOU know this???

What do you mean hi-rev launches and power shifting?? Ask Tanner on here about those-he's got a Viper-spec tranny on his car.

How is 4th gear crap?

a very good friend of mine has a 95 rt-10 and its a pretty fast car. i dont really know how fast it is but SOTP feel is very very nice. he used to let me take it out all the time, but about 2 years ago, some guys from k-state took it out and totalled it. he had it rebuilt but only drives it himself.

Yeah, I guess he thinks that the V10's, 12's and 16's in European sports cars are truck motors too.

Oh, definately trust you "mechanic friends" more than the people who designed the thing.....I guess they probably have no idea how the hell they came up with that motor.....

Well, it idles like crap because it's an odd-fire motor....and I don't know how it could have derived from a truck motor, because Chrysler never put a V10 in a truck until YEARS after the Viper.....the truck motor might have been derived from the Viper, but not the other way around.
