what else am I supposed to do at work?

and yes....if you read the post that you are arguing in....you would realize that indeed we are talking about a 1995 Dodge Viper...

ok honestly this kid just needs to grow up a bit, i was like that when i was his age, thought i knew everything, give him a few years, he will realize that no one is always right. OR someone will just kick his *** and he will learn the hard way

I was the same way, and I made myself look like an *** just like he is. We have all been there.

Camaroz: I have a little advise for you. When you are on these boards, just sit back and learn from the people that post. You will learn a lot more by reading than you ever will by arguing with someone on a topic you don't know much about.

I'm done in this thread.

Well the kid is right. It did come out of a truck. Unless you are going to tell motortrend, Car and Driver, Dodge, and the guys that built the first model in a barn that is wasn't a truck. If you don't believe me just check out the SRT-10 Viper Top Gear video, he tells how the first one was made and what from.

Now on the car..... if you are hating on the car get real. The car is one of the biggest TQ making supercars out there. If you can find one with more tq for under 100k show me because you can't. I like my fun cars to be loud, lopey, mean tire burning off manchines.

well...the FIRST one....in the prototype car was indeed truck based. Iron block sourced from a RAM, but the production cars got their own blocks, pistons, heads, etc....

I production cars with A/C and even more creature comforts weighed almost 200 lbs less than the prototype iron block with out A/C etc....

So in a way, yes....it was derrived from a truck motor.....but is it a truck motor? I say absolutely not

At 15 I knew **** tons more than the average 15 year old, but I still didn't know ****! 5 years later and a lot of experience later, I still don't know near as much as lots of other people on here. Now, start talking about 5.0's or 1st gen camaros, and thats my favorite subject!!!!!

And I will give you props, I didn't know that the motor was developed in a truck. But as stated, it doesn't mean that its an actual truck motor. But, I didn't know it came from a truck, I guess you learn something new everday.

1st gens are just plain bad ***, my first car was a 68 camaro. For my senior project, I rebuilt a 350 and somehow tied my paper into it. But the whole paper was just a 15 page essay about the 1st gen camaro. How I pulled that one out of my *** I have no idea. But hey, it worked!!

Its not far off and I hope it stomps the viper into the ground because I plan on getting one.

But ok it is like saying the Truck 5.3 motor isn't basicly the same thing as the ls1. LS1 LS6 LS WHATEVER! Same motor, just made out of different stuff. Im sure the motor has changed since back when it first came out but Im sure the first year or two the motor was VERY VERY VERY close to the same.

You know just enough to make yourself look like the moron you are. You did not even know that the damn tranny is the same T-56 that is used by the Fbodies. Most of the guys on this site started tinkering with cars when you were still sucking on your mamas tit (my ripe old 29 year old self included). Whatever shade tree **** **** mechanic you have been talking too needs to have his *** shot.
