Gsr? Ok, Im out with my friend last night an this guy in a del sol pulles up to us, he takes one look at my car and says that he could beat me and he wanted to put money on it. He is sooooo certain that he could beat me that he told me to name my price. He told me that he has a del sol with a GSR motor with intake and headers, thats it. He said that he takes out ls1 all the time and mustang gts are to easy. I have never heard of this motor or what it can do. So what im really trying to say is, can this guy beat me. I got a 2002 Z28 A4, long tubes, ory, cut out, lid, 3500 stall. oh yea this guy wants to go from a dig.

My guess would be no. He is not boosting or spraying nitrous so it is just a little 1.8 liter vtec motor. I could not see this car running any faster than a high 13 if that.
No god damn way if he is all motor. That thing puts out 175 hp to the crank stock. Its the lower rated acura integra motor before the type R. With header and air intake he may be at like an amazing 195 to the motor. Take his money.

That is what i was thinking, but i dont know, i just think this guy doesnt really know to much about cars. He had no idea what a Z06 was. So he is either playing dumb or hes trying to play me. i guess i will find out on saturday.

From a roll? He is just plain stupid. You should have him no problem. Buy a nitrous kit and race him for what ever the kit costs. Then you get a nitrous kit for free! Just make sure he has the money.

I'd race for no money. He very well is prolly gonna spray you...unless you happened to hear a turbo or a BOV. Did you hear either one of those? You can hide dope, but not FI.

dont over estimate them, they all seriously get cocky when they beat a mustang GT, its like the goal of all ricers.
He probably has a 75 shot or something though, but around here it definately isnt common for a ricer to run is mouth and want to throw down money and then get put in his place.
Even if he is boosting and all that it wont be that quick. Street tires + fwd + honduh + stupid flamer ricer = you should win.
buying a n20 kit and racing for the cost of that is a good idea though, untill he backs down

I would not underestimate him if i were you. You shoudl probably win. but if those motors are properly built he waill give more of a run then u think. I have raced plenty on hondas with those motors, i have raced hatchback GSR, civic with GSR, turbo and nitrous. and civics all motor. They are pretty quick for 4 bangers. and if they put a turbo on there with forged internals and properly built watch out. i know a few guys with turbo gsrs in there hatchs turning 10's at the track and still streetable 
. i would put my money on u though most of these kids now a days don't know how to build there motors right and think that intake and exhaus is enough to keep up with the comp

But I doubt that 10 sec B18 applies here. You probably should win, just don't go for green just in case.

A del sol has the motor in the rear, over top of the drive tires.
I saw one at the local track running 13's with 1.8 60's on STREET TIRES.
Know your **** before you post. You are attempting to bag on a car and you don't even know which wheels the engine drives.
