Acura NSX
I was on my home tonight and saw an Acura NSX waiting pull onto the highway. He was way behind me at first, then he proceeded to weave through traffic until he was behind me. There was a red light coming up and he got next to me. I wasn't sure that he wanted to race because he didn't rev or anything but when the light turned green he tore off. I thought for sure he would smoke me, but I figured what the hell and I tore off after him. I spun for a few seconds then passed him pretty easily and continued to pull away from him until we hit traffic.
Was that a fluke or are those NSX's just not very fast cars?
I drive a pretty much stock 2001 T/A M6.

If it was a '91-'95 NSX 5-speed, it had 270 fwhp, and if it was an automatic, it had 252 fwhp, and came with a 3.0L V6. The 5-speeds ran the 1/4 in the mid-14's and did 0-60 in about 5.8. They're more of a challenge for a stock LT1. The LT1 would outdrag it, but on the highway the NSX would easily pull.
If it was a '96+ 6-speed, it had 290 fwhp, and an automatic had 252 fwhp, and came with a 3.2L V6. They 6-speeds'll do the 1/4 in anywhere from low-upper 13's, and hit 60 in the upper 4's. They're a pretty even race for a stock LS1. An auto LS1 would outdrag one, but would get pulled on the highway. A manual LS1 might be able to outdrag one, and could easily hang with one on the highway (now this is assuming the NSX driver is as good a driver as the LS1).
The automatic NSX's are just a joke IMO. And whether manual or auto, you're paying WAY too much for what the NSX is, especially if you buy one brand new ($80-$90K). Those cars are the biggest ripoff on the market. Bring the price down to Corvette level and it'd make more sense for what you get.

They're tight in the twisties though. I drove my friends NSX and was able to POWER thru the apex of some tight turns.

"Tool" ?? 305 threw out the bait ... and you bit. Hilarious! Caught two rustangs on one hook.
After making a few Open Track events, I was very disappointed with the NSX. And I used to be a vtec fan.
